"A sweeping federal review of the nations gun control laws found no proof that they reduce firearm violence, with studies on laws ranging from waiting periods to zero-tolerance school policies having no conclusions."
"...an independent CDC task force reviewed 51 published studies about the effectiveness of eight types of gun-control laws. The laws included bans on specific firearms or ammunition, preventing felons from buying guns, mandatory waiting periods and firearm registration. In every case, a CDC task force found insufficient evidence to determine effectiveness.

Most people who bring concealed handguns to Lambert Airport in St. Louis won't be able to bring them past the parking lot.
In anticipation of the new concealed-carry law, airport officials approved a policy Wednesday banning guns from most areas of the airport.
The policy allows law enforcement officer, security guards, air marshals and specially-trained pilots to bring firearms into the airport.
It also permits passengers to bring unloaded firearms in locked cases inside checked luggage as long as the weapons are declared with the airlines. Weapons will not be permitted in any carry-on luggage.
Airline and airport personnel will also be able to get special written permission if a firearm is needed to perform their duties. |
