Miller County Sheriff Linda Rambo said she has been given an ultimatum by Prosecuting Attorney Brent Haltom: Resign or face criminal prosecution.
Rambo said she didn’t know she was breaking the law when she gave jail Sgt. Dolly Simmons permission to use a county-owned truck and an inmate from the Arkansas Department of Correcction to help Simmons’ sister move.
“I didn’t think a thing about it because I hadn’t read that law book,” said Rambo. “Hell, I don’t know all the rules.”
Rambo said she now knows she made a mistake and takes full responsibility.
