"Arguing that the Supreme Court opened the door toward incorporation of the Second Amendment in its landmark ruling in the Heller case, the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) has filed an amicus brief in the long-running case of Nordyke v. King, a challenge to the gun show ban in California's Alameda County."

"Russell Allen Nordyke had been fighting the Alameda County gun show ban on First Amendment grounds, but a ruling in the case by a district court judge opened up a Second Amendment issue. This is a critical issue for all Americans in the wake of the Supreme Court's ruling that the Second Amendment protects an individual civil right to keep and bear arms." ...

... "'But let one thing be perfectly clear. There will be no more innocent Alabama citizens victimized by this federal administration or their mercenary toadies while I am Governor. If we hear of a raid coming down, we will maneuver whatever forces we have on the spot to get in between the feds and their intended victims. Are we all clear on that? . . I admit that this increases rather than decreases the likelihood of violent confrontation between federal forces and our own. But I am not going to stand by idly again while the feds kill our citizens. I am the duly elected governor of Alabama and not some federal errand boy who gets told about things after the fact like the Sipsey Street business.'" ...

FULL TEXT BELOW:

I have heard radio ads talking about Barack Obama's position on gun control. The ad states he will protect our Second Amendment rights

Don't believe it.

Obama's voting record in the Illinois Senate and the U.S. Senate shows that he is the most anti-gun candidate for president in U.S. history.

In addition, he will undoubtedly appoint liberal Supreme Court justices who could overturn a recent court decision which protects Second Amendment rights for all Americans.

Joe Biden's voting record on gun control is almost as bad as Obama's.

Vote McCain/Palin to protect your Second Amendment rights.

A white South Carolina trooper has been acquitted of violating the civil rights of a black man who was struck by the officer's cruiser.

A federal jury returned the verdict Friday after a four-day trial that hinged in large part on a video from Lance Cpl. Steven Garren's patrol car.

The tape shows Marvin Grant running in front of Garren's cruiser after a brief car chase ended in June 2007. Grant is struck and flips over the hood of the patrol car. Garren later bragged on the tape that he deliberately hit Grant.

Garren was charged with using unreasonable force that deprived Grant of his civil rights. The officer could have faced up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if he had been convicted.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered, as the palladium of the liberties of a republic; since it offers a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers; and will generally, even if these are successful in the first instance, enable the people to resist and triumph over them. — Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States; With a Preliminary Review of the Constitutional History of the Colonies and States before the Adoption of the Constitution [Boston, 1833].
