Matthew Holden woke up screaming and sweating, his body racked by cold chills. This had happened to him often ever since the terrible time the Yanks called the Civil War, while the Johnny Rebs referred to it as the War of Northern Aggression. Whatever one chose to call it, Matt knew it was the most tragic thing that had ever happened to our country, causing the slaughter of thousands of good men on both sides. |

I’ve been excited about the Dan Wesson DWX for a long time! First teased in 2019, the DWX didn't hit the market until late last year. Now that I’ve finally got my hands on it, I can report that it is flat-shooting, controllable, accurate, and reliable. This steel-framed, 5-inch, competition-style single-action 9mm pistol can go really fast. It’s probably one of the flattest-shooting non-compensated pistols on the market. |

I’ve been fortunate enough to test a good number of Glock firearms over the years, but I haven’t spent much time trying out the wealth of aftermarket upgrades that are out there these days. It’s not that I’m a factory parts loyalist. It’s more of a general laziness when it comes to modifying my guns. That can make things a bit boring when it comes to a company that generally keeps its firearms simple, reliable, and remarkably predictable. So, I decided to spice things up a bit and picked up a Zev Technologies Pro Flat-Face Trigger kit to test in my go-to Glock 19 Gen 4.

Will Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s ban on guns in certain spaces around Bernalillo County and Albuquerque stand? Both sides made their case to a federal court judge Tuesday. The judge ruled that the temporary restraining order against enforcement of the gun ban will be extended until October 11; at that point, the judge will determine whether the latest version of the public health order will stand.

It is bad enough when another narcissistic idiot with a gun kills innocent victims. It is worse when the mainstream media gives the murderer a multi-million-dollar publicity campaign. We’re left to defend our children in school and defend our neighbors at church. Along the way, we’re balancing some conflicting emotions and some important truths about protecting our kids.
Finding the best middle-ground is hard. |

There are many great debates that grace the display cases of gun stores and internet forums about which personal defense ammo or firearm is superior…1911 vs Glock, AR-15 vs AK-47, 30-06 Springfield vs 308 Winchester, and 9mm vs 40 Smith and Wesson to name a few.
And although proponents of certain firearms/cartridges are often very stalwart in their positions, there are none that are so unrelenting, tenacious, and resolute in their position than those in the 9mm vs 45 ACP caliber debate.

When I think about the most iconic rifle cartridges of World War II, my mind immediately goes to the American 30-06 Springfield and the Russian 7.62x54R. The 303 British and 8mm Mauser played a critical role in that conflict as well, but if I had to choose two cartridges that won the European theater, the 30-06 and 7.62x54R would be my picks.

In a major victory for California gun owners, a district court judge has struck down—for the second time—the state’s law banning firearm magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition. On Sept. 22, District Judge Roger Benitez, a President George W. Bush (R) appointee, ruled in the case Duncan v. Bonta that the law is unconstitutional as it violates the Second Amendment rights of the plaintiffs.

The White House made a much-ballyhooed announcement that they were caving to gun control special interests by installing a new Office of Gun Violence Prevention. The office will have little to do with preventing actual crime and everything to do with using taxpayer dollars to attempt to deny Americans their Second Amendment rights. Still, there are questions about just what this office will do and who are the people staffing this endeavor at taxpayer expense. Here’s what we know.
