This equipment allows firearms technicians to acquire digital images of the markings made by a firearm on bullets and cartridge casings; the images then undergo automated initial comparison.

"If there were any doubts as to why Chicago Mayor Daley anointed Lisa Madigan as the Democratic candidate for Illinois Attorney General, they were certainly swept aside during a Wednesday press
conference held in Chicago. During that press conference, Daley announced his intended role for Madigan, should she be elected as the state's top law-enforcement official."

"Daley announced that, among other things, Lisa Madigan will be assigned to 'take on' the organizations that represent the state's 1.5 million law-abiding hunters and sportsmen. Although Daley did not elaborate on how Madigan will 'take on' sportsmen's organizations, one could reasonably expect that Madigan would be tasked with executing a campaign of harassment against the state's sportsmen's clubs." ...

When they speak to the public, anti-gun groups and politicians usually claim they don't want to ban all guns, just the 'bad' ones. But if you listen to their rhetoric closely, you'll soon discover that just about every gun is demonized at one time or another. Which begs the question: What guns are OK?

ORIGINAL TITLE: "Weapons Of Mass Destruction: A Plague of Small Arms"
-------
This anti-gun fanatic's hit piece starts with a blatant lie. It was written by Rebecca Peters, director of the International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA). For clarity's sake, IANSA is based in the "United Kingdom". Here's the whopper:
"Ten people died from the sniper's bullets in the Washington area. In the same three-week period, 1,600 people died from gunfire in the United States generally, and more than 17,000 around the world."
If that were true -- it isn't -- that would mean there was an average of 533 firearms-related deaths in the U.S. during each those three weeks. If this lying British gun prohibitionist thinks the mainstream media wouldn't be falling all over themselves to report such unbelievable numbers, she's even more insane than her nation's policy of imprisoning a farmer for shooting a burglar.

Email this liar at IANSA.

Send a letter to the editor of the International Herald Tribune for having published such an overt lie.

... "If there is any common ground shared by advocates of increased gun control and advocates of Second Amendment rights, it is that existing gun laws and regulations should be strictly and fairly enforced."

[Actually, true advocates of "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" consider those who enforce unconstitutional laws that infringe the Second Amendment to be domestic enemies.]

"Yes, a person intent on committing a violent act may well find ways around the most carefully constructed gun laws. Nonetheless, the ATF needs the tools to keep better tabs on gun dealers' sales and better tools for dealing with those who put the public at risk."

"The agenda behind the words "common sense gun laws" strikes me as nothing but the first step toward wholesale confiscation. But, while the idealized concept of "common sense gun laws" might garner votes from terrified soccer moms and hordes of helpless urbanites, it does nothing to hinder the desires of those who would rob and kill."

"When Kathleen Kennedy Townsend received the endorsement of leading sportsmen this week, she became one of a growing number of Democrats to actively court this group of voters who traditionally back Republicans."

"Standing along the banks of the Northeast River in Cecil County, Townsend beamed as, one by one, the leaders of hunting and recreational fishing organizations sang her praises. Many of them held copies of a letter she signed that promised more hunting opportunities and youth programs." ...

KABA NOTE:

While we have many sportsmen among us here at KeepAndBearArms.com, we do not consider sportsmanship to be the primary attribute to which we vow our lives, fortunes and sacred honor. Sportsmanship did not win the American Revolution, and it will not restore the American Republic -- patriotism did, and patriotism will.

If fishermen are going to vote for this rabid anti-gun fanatic because she whispers sweet nothings in their ears, we have little use for any type of allegiance with them and openly consider them part of the problem and detrimental to the solution.

" 'We've never had a person who specifically did gun prosecution,' Prosecutor John Kaye said yesterday. 'We have a significant number of gun-related crimes.' " ...

NOTE:

In New Jersey, the mere possession of many types of firearms is a "gun crime". Carrying a firearm to defend your own precious life is a "gun crime". Transporting a firearm in ways that offend unconstitutional statutory laws and the oath-breakers who enforce them is a "gun crime," too. In fact, it's become ever more difficult to be a gunowner in New Jersey without committing one "gun crime" or another -- and the list of "gun crimes" has grown at a clip, turning otherwise lawful, decent Americans into "gun criminals" this band of non-Americans wants to prosecute.

Going after truly violent people is essential. But when you're talking about New Jersey, it's good to remember that carrying a firearm to keep from being stabbed for your wallet is itself considered a felonious violent "gun crime."
