To tell the tale of Louis L'Amour is to tell the tale of a bygone America, one where freedom was much easier to come by, though just as dangerous to defend.
L'Amour documented the world of frontier liberty, with all its perks and pitfalls, in an extensive manner that no one else can boast, penning over 100 Western novels. While his books were fiction, L'Amour knew the cowboy life second hand, growing up at a time when remnants of the Old West frontier were still very much alive in pockets of the country. |

The oral arguments for the New York Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen were presented on November 3, 2021, to the Supreme Court of the United States.
Oral arguments do not carry much weight with the Court, generally. They allow some public interpretation of the issues the Court members are interested in. All of the arguments have already been stated in the written briefs to the Court. With those limits, the presentation to the Court and the questions asked were interesting. |

Billionaire gun control kingpin and former failed Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg knows a thing or two about losing elections. He also has a long track record of spending millions to flip seats only to lose once voters reject more gun control at the polls.
That was the case in Virginia. Bloomberg’s arrogance showed yet again when he flipped over the couch cushions and found nearly $2 million to throw at the 2021 state-wide elections. It didn’t go well for him or gun control.
Gun rights candidates swept the big three offices of governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general. When the dust settled, Republicans flipped six seats to win the majority in the House of Delegates. |

A lawsuit seeking to overturn Colorado's Violence Protection Act, known as the Red Flag Law, is moving forward after an appeals court reversed an earlier dismissal of the suit.
The red flag law allows judges to temporarily remove firearms from people who are thought to be at high risk of harming themselves or others.
Supporters say the law decreases shootings and suicides, but opponents of the law argue it violates second amendment rights. |

Wednesday, Rittenhouse's attorneys asked for a mistrial with prejudice because of questions from prosecutor Thomas Binger. Schroeder said he would allow Binger time to respond and cite case law before ruling.
Jurors heard Thursday from John Black, an expert in use of force from Oregon, who said approximately one minute and 20 seconds passed from the time of Rittenhouse's first shot to his final shot. The amount of time Rittenhouse spent firing each shot took less than seven seconds, Black said. |

I have been close to gun violence my entire life. Growing up on the South Side of Chicago, I’ve seen my classmates carry firearms to keep themselves and their families safe from harm. And I later represented some of those same individuals in court—being prosecuted for firearm possession—when I started work as a public defender.
The people I knew growing up, and now the people I fight for in court, are also victims of gun violence themselves. I see those same people get arrested, prosecuted, and caged for the simple act of possessing a firearm—something protected and even exalted elsewhere in our country. |

I believe the late conservative Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren Burger said it best: “The Gun Lobby’s interpretation of the Second Amendment is one of the greatest pieces of fraud, I repeat the word fraud, on the American People by special interest groups that I have ever seen in my lifetime. The real purpose of the Second Amendment was to ensure that state armies — the militia — would be maintained for the defense of the state. The very language of the Second Amendment refutes any argument that it was intended to guarantee every citizen an unfettered right to any kind of weapon he or she desires.” |

Second amendment advocates are sounding the alarm Joe Biden's ATF is starting a national gun registry.
When a licensed gun store goes out of business, the ATF currently swoops in and takes control of its transactions. Stores can destroy records after 20 years.

Kenosha County Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger has struggled to counter Rittenhouse's self-defense arguments during the Illinois man's trial, raising questions about whether his office overcharged Rittenhouse. Daniel Adams, a former Milwaukee County assistant district attorney who isn't involved in the trial, described Binger's case as "incredibly underwhelming."
"He's got nothing," Adams said. "I just don't understand it. What are we doing here? We're all kind of scratching our heads." |

Binger started his cross-examination by asking about events much earlier in the night and occasionally took tangents into topics such as Rittenhouse’s video game preferences or the fact that he ignored the citywide curfew in Kenosha that night.
“If that’s what you’re basing your murder charge on, then you have big problems,” Meyn said. “I don’t know what that was supposed to accomplish except sympathy for the defendant. The optics for the prosecution would be terrible, the last thing they want to emphasize is that it’s a kid.”

The corporate media is shifting narratives about the Kyle Rittenhouse case because his self-defense claim is bulletproof. They want to erase the long-understood obligation for all able-bodied citizens to come to the defense of their community when the normal authorities are unwilling or unable to do so.
The constitutionally sound principle that allows and expects this is the left’s most-abused part of the Second Amendment, the “well-regulated militia.” This is the false premise being pushed by many historically ignorant moral scolds. |
