"The Cook County state's attorney's office Tuesday filed a civil lawsuit against 12 gun manufacturers, distributors and dealers accusing them of causing a public nuisance by selling illegal guns known as Saturday night specials."
"The defendants include three manufacturers, Bryco Arms Inc. of California, Phoenix Arms of Phoenix, and Davis Industries Inc. of California; and a gun distributor, B.L. Jennings Inc. of Nevada."

Flight diverted after passenger hands over gun

An American Airlines flight from New York to the Dominican Republic made an unscheduled stop after a passenger handed over a gun he said he had unintentionally brought on board.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the man gave the gun to the flight crew without incident Tuesday.
``He advised the crew he forgot he had it, and voluntarily surrendered the gun to the flight crew, and the crew elected to divert to Miami,' she said.

The Georgia teenager who opened fire in the commons area of Heritage High School in Conyers, Ga., last May was sentenced to 40 years in prison, Reuters reported Nov. 13.

"Some people are saying, 'I want to get a gun now before they register it or take it away from me,'" said Ken Glass, organizer of the show.
Attendees at the show expressed anger and suspicion over the fact that the state was keeping a record of gun transactions. "I'm not totally against background checks," said Art Larson, a gun collector. "But I'm not sure stockpiling the names of honest citizens is the answer. I buy and sell just for fun, and it's going to be more difficult."
