Guns need to be reliable for me to take them in the field, and a big part of a gun’s reliability is how well it’s maintained. The last thing you want is a gummed up action preventing a quick follow-up shot, or freezing up your firing pin on a cold morning—something that’s happened to me here in Alaska. |

The wadcutter is a very unique type of bullet, very much like a lead cylinder. Almost exclusively used to punch holes in paper with low pressure and lightly loaded cartridges, wadcutters don't change shape or become deformed when fired. They make scoring target sheets extremely easy because the round hole created is very defined compared to any other type of ammunition.

On November 4, the Biden administration announced a new testing mandate for unvaccinated workers in most American companies. As with everything else in American life these days, litigation soon followed from conservative business owners and Republican officials. The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals was the quickest to respond to the proposed Occupational Safety and Health Administration rule and issued a stay of its enforcement. These stays aren’t necessarily unusual, but in this case, there was something a little different about it.

If loyal Ammoland readers want to know why NYSRPA v. Bruen is not going to be a silver bullet to end the battle for our rights, they just need to look at Instagram’s actions towards an Ohio-based firearms manufacturer. Hi-Point Firearms doesn’t have the name recognition of Springfield Armory, Glock, Colt, or Smith and Wesson. In fact, it is, in some ways, the flip side of SIG-Sauer, Beretta, or Heckler and Koch. It makes affordable semi-automatic carbines and pistols. It follows federal, state, and local laws. |

The St. Louis couple who made headlines last year after being filmed pointing guns at Black Lives Matter protesters showed up at the Kenosha County courthouse Monday in support of Kyle Rittenhouse. Mark and Patricia McCloskey told reporters that Rittenhouse was being subjected to a "political prosecution." "We're here to support Kyle and the basic premise of self-defense and our God-given Second Amendment rights," Mark McCloskey said. "And we're hoping the jury acquits him on all counts." |

It has always pleased me to be part of a church where so many guys and gals are hunters, fishermen, outdoorsmen and shooting enthusiasts. The dedicated upland bird hunters were easy to spot at my churches annual trap shooting get-together on Sunday, as most clay birds had little chance of survival when those shooters were on the firing line. Our small but diverse group consisted of an ex-soldier with extensive marksmanship training, an electrician, an engineer, a golf-course manager, a large farmer, the youth pastor, a couple high school kids and a few retired duffers like myself. Ages ranged from upper 70’s to 14 years young.

We've been putting the new Commander-length Tisas Tanker from SDS Imports through its paces and have some feedback on how the budget .45 performs. An upgraded version of the standard M1911A1 Army marketed by the company, the Tanker is shorter by about 0.75 inches, shipping with a 4.25-inch hammer-forged barrel on a full-size frame. This shortens the slide and overall length while cutting a couple of ounces in weight and retaining the standard Government-profile magazine and grip. |
