Charges could be filed against a west suburban mother accused of bringing a gun to her child's school. The woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon at Forest Hills Elementary in Western Springs.
Police say her alleged husband called two schools warning them his wife was on the way there with a gun to pick up their children. Officers caught up with her at the elementary school and found the unloaded pistol in her pocket.
Authorities are trying to figure out why she was carrying the gun in the first place. |

Charges have been filed against a man that normally protects and serves one area community.
The Champaign County State's Attorney's office has filed charges against Champaign County Corrections Sergeant William Alan Myers.
Myers is being charged with aggravated battery and obstruction of justice for an incident that occurred Monday night.
Myers was reported to have caused bodily harm to Ray Hsieh with a taser gun without legal justification at the correction center.
Hsieh is currently in the custody of Champaign County on other charges.
Officials say Myers then proceeded to provide false information to Captain James Young as to why he used the taser device on Hsieh. |

Victoria police are contemplating mischief charges against a 15-year-old youth who aimed a realistic looking pellet rifle in the direction frightened neighbours Saturday night.
Police spokesman Les Sylven said the detachment deployed its emergency response team around 6:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a man brandishing a firearm on the balcony of a Tyee Road apartment building.
"(Replicas) get the same amount of attention as if they were a real firearm," Sylven said. "On average we get two or three of these calls a month."
The teen was home with a friend when the incident occurred. His mother arrived while police were still on the scene. |
