A Prince George's County police officer who shot an unarmed man outside a pizza shop in June will not face criminal charges after investigators failed to locate a witness who said the officer fired without warning through the open window of his police cruiser, the county prosecutor said yesterday.
"grand jurors believed that the shooting was justified because Ramseur mistook the cellular phone, wallet and keys Buruca-Melgar was holding for a gun." |

"A Palm Beach County ordinance requiring trigger locks on guns passed on Tuesday, despite fierce opposition by some gun owners and a legal challenge against a similar law in South Miami."
"...it violates a Florida law that says only the state can regulate firearms and ammunition."
"Arrogant, anti-gun commissions are ignoring state law," said National Rifle Association spokeswoman Marion Hammer, during a phone interview Tuesday night. "They're a disgrace to the people they serve." |

Wisconsin -- "The village of Grayslake has suspended the issuance of temporary use permits issued to the Lake County Fair Association for the Lake County Sportsmen's Gun Show for the next 60 days. This suspension will affect the November and December gun shows."
"According to Police Chief Larry Herzog, three different vendors at the gun show violated the law by selling ammunition to persons without requiring the proper identification. Those vendors were arrested, Herzog said." |
