"Anybody with Internet access can access that Web site and do a background check," said Al Stanley, deputy director of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI). "People will be able to check on the criminal backgrounds of renters, neighbors, even friends. I suspect some fathers may want to check out the guys dating their daughters."

KABA NOTE: We wonder if they will include lawmakers who break their solemn Oaths to uphold the Constitution and other treasonous acts.

An Orange, Texas Grand Jury finds two unusual items to be classified as
weapons in recent cases:

- A woman was indicted on charges of brandishing a car armrest in a convenience store robbery

- A man faces as many as 20 years on a charge of hitting another man in the head with a lawn ornament (a duck)

KABA NOTE: Goes to show that it isn't the weapon of choice that matters, it is how a person uses (or misuses) it.

"...a drooling, slack-jawed, blame-everything-and-everyone-but-don’t-take-personal-responsibility automaton woke up from her valium-induced, Barney the Dinosaur stupor and decided to launch a frontal assault on G.I. Joe." --Nicki Felzner

"So you want those pesky animal rights folks to go away - to stop badgering, pestering and destroying your 'heritage'? You want the 'suit' in downtown New York or Toronto to understand why it is you like to dress up in camo and cover scent and run around the woods with your bow or rifle chasing Bambi or Thumper or some such character. Well buddy - I'd hate to break the bad news to you but it isn't going to happen..." --Scott Carpenter, Canada

Justice Breyer said, "the rise in the public's trust of the federal government since Sept. 11 should cause the court to reassess its recent decisions favoring state sovereignty over federal power."

Breyer swore an Oath to uphold the Constitution. He forgot to mention that he would do it by taking a "poll." The Supreme Court is empowered to gauge the constitutionality of laws, not their "popularity."

"When giving a right to one person requires that someone else provide it, whether or not they want to do so. When it requires taking something away from someone who works and earns for him/herself, and gives it to someone who won't, or can't. When it creates a demand on the earnings of someone for the benefit of someone who does not earn..." --Ray Thomas

Compatriot Tim Meadows, a member of the Raphael Semmes Camp #11, SCV, was arrested today for carrying a Confederate battle flag in the Mobile Veterans Day parade.

Meadows was charged with "interfering with a parade." He was freed immediately on $250 bond.

KABA NOTE: While not directly RKBA-related, this article shows just how disgustingly "Politically Correct" things have become -- even to the point of arresting people for honoring one's ancestors.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She well knows that by one enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standards of freedom. — JOHN QUINCY ADAMS (1821)
