"Criminology and criminal justice are areas of fascinating research. Critical criminology has evolved over the past two decades and a number of new sub-branches have developed. Most popular research would be improved by greater emphasis on the branch of criminology known as 'Minarchist Realism' or 'Libertarian Realism.'" ...

"Self-defense and the Constitutional guarantees of the Second Amendement in the Bill of Rights are important in the field of minarchist realism. Crime is an overwhelming problem perpetrated foremost by government and politicians against individuals in a society. Regardless of its origins, according to libertarian realists, crime must be dealt with by individuals protecting themselves from all criminals, be they street thugs or government employees. ..." ...

The Beretta Model 92 remains one of the most popular pistols of the modern era. ..."

"Despite its popularity, one quality has prevented the M92 from achieving even greater success. There is simply no getting around the fact that the M92 is a big gun. Users with medium to large size hands and long fingers are often at their best with the M92. However, people with small hands are at a deficit. The wide grip frame and 4.92 inch barrel can also make it a challenge to conceal. To address these concerns, Beretta recently introduced an entirely new pistol - the PX4 Storm. Incorporating a number of in-demand features into a design that is lighter, smaller, and less costly to produce, the new PX4 Storm is superbly engineered." ...

"There has definitely been a recent trend towards lightweight short-barreled auto pistols for self-defense. Let's face it, when it comes to concealed carry, a handgunner needs a reliable pistol that functions 100 percent of the time, is slim in profile so as not to snag on clothing, is comfortable to carry, and is accurate at self-defense distances. No pistol meets these criteria better than an ultracompact 1911."

"Two of the newest mini 1911s are from Kimber, and I got an exclusive hands-on look at them."

"Those folks at Kimber continue to amaze me. For quite a number of years they have built some of the nicest 1911 pistols it has been my pleasure to shoot. The two Kimber 1911s I've been testing recently are good examples of that." ...
