"While there will be the typical reports of 'Black Friday' shopping surges on Seattle, Spokane and Portland news broadcasts, it’s not likely anyone will trump the tale out of San Antonio Friday morning, where an armed shopper discouraged a line-jumping thug who pushed and punched his way into a store." ...

"The battle-tested and time-proven Mossberg 500 is arguably the most trusted pump shotgun for tactical/home defense situations. Right out of the box the black shotgun can do what’s needed whether dealing with a home intruder or the zombie apocalypse and with the large aftermarket, it can be taken even further. RAM Arms took that to the fullest extent with their 'Sledgehammer' tactical defense package added onto the Mossberg." ...

"Over the past few years there have been a huge increase in the number of hybrid holster manufacturers and nearly endless debate about which is the best."

"My favorite, the one I use and the one I like enough to stock, is the Minotaur M-TAC by Comp-tac Victory Gear. I believe it is the best thought out and executed design on the market and I have explained why in multiple posts, but I have never shown it in direct comparison between it and the market leader from crossbreedholsters.com." ...

Gun Review: Glock 26 Gen 4

"Are you a concealed carry permit holder? Are you of the opinion that a 9mm bullet can stop a threat? Can you learn to draw and shoot with only two fingers on the grip? Then have I got a gun for you! If you answered yes to all of those questions, there aren’t many handguns that can beat a Glock 26. The model we’re talking about here, the Gen 4, has quickly becoming my preferred carry gun (over my previous fave, a Gen 4 G19). Sometimes referred to as the 'Baby Glock', this little pistol packs 10+1 rounds of parabellum in a convenient little double stack configuration. Sporting the typical Glock – er – style, this thing is all business . . ." ...

"When I first started researching concealed carry options, I didn’t really think much about holsters. I have packed around a Colt 1911 in a Galco IWB holster for years in my home, but every other holster I had used was OWB and usually cordura or military surplus on a surplus web belt. So when I picked up my M&P Shield, I needed something to put it in so I immediately went with another Galco . . ."

"There’s an old saying about turning swords into ploughshares. It’s from the book of Isaiah in the bible actually, talking about a time when weapons will no longer be needed and the tools of war will be turned into tools of peace. It’s a very hopeful outlook on the future, one that pacifists tend to take to heart. Apparently one man on the Northeast Shooters’ forum didn’t get the message, though, and did the reverse, turning a shovel into a functioning AK-47. And he’s posted pictures of the process. ..."

"The outcome of the Nov. 6 presidential election shocked almost everyone, with very few analysts expecting Barack Obama to win so decisively and to take so many of the 'battleground' states ..."

"But then the reports of voting irregularities started leaking out, then gushing out – like the 59 different Philadelphia voting divisions in which Mitt Romney received zero votes compared to Obama’s 19,605. And the Cleveland precinct in which Obama beat Romney 542 to 0. (In fact, Romney received zero votes in nine Cleveland precincts.) And in one Ohio county – widely considered ground zero for the election – Obama received 106,258 votes from 98,213 eligible voters – an impossible 108 percent of the vote. And that’s just the beginning." ...

"Welcome to President Obama’s second term, America — that special place where ridiculousness replaces raison d’etre, and presidents give us things like gun control a’ la United Nations."

"Obviously, Obama understood he would never get the support needed for a gun control bill from Congress, so the astute Constitutional professor chose to skirt around the Constitution by signing on to the United Nations (UN) Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) shortly after his re-election. Liberals certainly know how to get what they want, ethics aside. ..." ...

"'I think it's necessary so people will have peace of mind when they're traveling to and from work,' he said."

"... Gonzales was the U.S. attorney who oversaw the investigation, arrest and prosecution of the Reese family. At the time of the Reese’s arrest, Gonzales had the audacity to release a statement saying, 'Those who sell firearms knowing that they will be illegally smuggled into Mexico to arm Mexican cartels share responsibility for the violence that has been devastating Mexico.' So far, he has not called for the prosecution of any of the federal agents or administrators who oversaw the sale of some 2,000 guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition to Mexican gun smugglers in Operation Fast and Furious."

"Gonzales has much to be thankful for this season, but what about the Reese family? For them, being thankful is a relative term. ..."

"Telling colleagues and superiors that he fears a family law litigant, Anoka County Judge John Dehen wants to carry a gun into the courthouse."

"Earlier this year, Gov. Mark Dayton signed a bill allowing prosecutors to carry a concealed weapon if they receive approval from their county attorney and a judge. One of the legislators who proposed the law wholeheartedly supports Dehen's efforts." ...
-------

Submitter's Note: By law Minnesotans with carry permits are allowed to carry in the courthouse (just not courtrooms) if they have notified the sheriff. In most counties, however, judges have ruled that the entire building is a "courtroom" meaning we peasants face felony charges if we try to exercise our lawful rights.

"We the people have made our choice, and now we the people better make sure we get the government we want and nothing more."

"Looking at history, we find too many countries have gone down the tubes. When dictators such as Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin got into power, the first thing they did was disarm the people. When all of the firearms were confiscated and destroyed, the people had no more voice in government and were herded like sheep to do the wishes of the dictator controlling the country."

"I don't know about you, but I like the freedoms we have had in this country and know very well that they can and will be taken away from us if we let Washington lull us to sleep. ..." ...

"Ohio's week-long deer-gun season begins statewide Monday, Nov. 26 and runs through Sunday, Dec. 2, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources' (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. The season again includes an extra weekend of gun hunting Dec. 15-16."

"'Deer-gun season is a great Ohio tradition and an opportunity for hunters to spend time with friends and family in the outdoors,' said ODNR Director James Zehringer. 'I encourage everyone to take proper safety precautions, such as using a safety harness while in a tree stand, wearing hunter orange and being aware of their surroundings.'" ...

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until a majority of voters discover that they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury. — Alexander Tyler (in his 1770 book, Cycle of Democracy)
