As anti-gun as the 2020 Democratic presidential contenders have exposed themselves to be, much of the field still gives lip-service to the Second Amendment and the Constitution. Take for instance Joe Biden. The leading candidate’s campaign has said that Biden will seek to “respect the Second Amendment” and that “as president, Biden will pursue constitutional, common-sense gun safety policies.” However, take a critical look at the vast majority of the Democratic field for any limiting principle that would preclude even the most severe forms of gun control (like gun confiscation) and you will come up wanting. |

A "shooting range kit" can take on a few different definitions, depending on if it's private or public, long or short, or primarily for fun or function. If you want to set up your own, there are some basic guidelines to follow, but it's mostly about the gear that you add to enhance the situation. |

Over the last few years, Glock has changed gears a bit and added some interesting guns to its standard lineup of duty-size, double-stack blasters. One that really stands out for me is the new addition to the company's Slimline series: the Glock G48. Glock released the G48 at the same time they released the new G43X, and you can read the review of the G43X here. |

Beau Emett started winning shooting competitions when he was in the seventh grade. He won the National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA) Utah state .22-caliber (smallbore) rifle event and placed fourth at the nationals that first year. In 2018, his eighth-grade year and only his second year of competing, he took the national title. You won’t find Beau bragging about his accomplishments, though. As his father, Royce, told America’s 1st Freedom, “I don’t think he understands what he’s accomplished. He’s very humble.” |

Jesse Courtwright is a hunter and has been for a long time – approximately 25 years. The Greene County native lives in Holbrook and definitely learned a lot from those who came before him. Before he was old enough to hunt, he would go to game lands with his father and watch as him hunt. These teachings have been passed from Courtwright father to son over at least two generations. |

Ohio Republican lawmakers with a more supportive governor in office are once again pursuing a "stand-your-ground" law that would allow gun owners to use deadly force without having to back away first when they perceive a threat. The Senate Government Oversight and Reform Committee held sponsor testimony on a bill Wednesday introduced by Sen. Ron Johnson, a Portsmouth Republican, with the support of Republican Senate President Larry Obhof, of Medina. |

Federal agents on Friday arrested a former San Diego County sheriff's captain accused of running a gun trafficking business, and a lieutenant with access to weapons restricted for law enforcement pleaded guilty to helping him.
The arrest of former Capt. Marco Garmoat his home was the latest in a string of cases involving current and former law enforcement officers in Southern California accused of such illegal firearm sales.
Prosecutors say Garmo acquired 146 weapons and sold at least 104 of them. Court documents say he was helped by sheriff’s Lt. Fred Magana, who purchased many of the “off roster” firearms, WHICH AREN'T AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC.

The .50 Action Express cartridge is, without a doubt, one of the world’s most powerful pistol cartridges. It features a .500-inch bullet diameter (33mm) in a 1.285-inch straight-walled case that has a rebated rim. The overall length of the standard .50 AE round measures 1.610 inches, and the ammo is powered with a large pistol primer. According to the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute (SAAMI), the maximum pressure of .50 AE ammo should not exceed 36,000 pounds per square inch (psi).

Easing gun laws and rejecting gun control has been the norm in Texas politics since before Republicans took control, as a recent roundup of gun legislationin The Texas Tribune amply illustrates. Gov. Greg Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick have regularly positioned themselves with an eye on each other and another on primary voters, donors, and the state’s interest group universe, each trying to occupy the more conservative position. But in their responses to the recurring mass shootings in Texas, that has changed: The two have edged into conversations about red flag laws and increased background checks — positions that have been off limits for Second Amendment advocates housed mostly, if not exclusively, in the Republican Party.

Oklahoma’s 16-day deer gun season opened Saturday statewide, but next year hunters could get even more time in the woods. The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation is considering extending the deer gun season by another week. It will likely be one of the new hunting regulations the Wildlife Department is suggesting for next season when the new fishing and hunting rule proposals are published on the agency’s website on Dec. 2, said Micah Holmes, spokesman for the Wildlife Department. |

As the liberals repeat their mantra that gun control is the answer to violence, Americans need to ask, “How has that been working elsewhere?” Take the United Kingdom as an example. England, after all, is often held up as a shining example of good governance when it comes to gun control. But, surprise, the United Kingdom has posted an increasing number of homicides. In the year ending in March 2018, the last year for which statistics were available, 726 murders were reported—a 3% increase from the previous year. And, not surprisingly, a large number of those killings—285 (almost 40%)—were committed through the use of knives. |

Environmentalists, mainly of the weekend-hiker variety, assume that the only way to save declining species is to “protect” them: ban hunting, put them on endangered-species lists, and otherwise restrict contact between the animal world and the human. Sportsmen have long believed that the best way to save declining species is to kill them: Allowing wild animals to be harvested for food and sport imparts clear value to the species and incentivizes sportsmen to do the hard work of protecting them and their habitat.

Veteran anti-tax crusader Tim Eyman, whose Initiative 976 to limit car license tabs to $30 won overwhelming support in all but a handful of Evergreen State counties, has announced he will run for governor in Washington state, according to the Seattle P-I.com.
He joins a field already boasting one state senator, a small town police chief who gained national prominence for declaring he would not enforce a gun control initiative passed by voters last year, a former mayor and a program manager. Eyman’s entry into the race could make for a lively 2020 gubernatorial campaign, as he is reviled by the liberal establishment.
