Police said Friday they were investigating the shooting death of man Thanksgiving night in the parking lot of a Nevada Wal-Mart as possible self-defense.
Investigators have questioned a man but have not arrested him, Reno police Lt. Sean Garlock said.
Officers were looking at road rage as a potential cause of the confrontation in the parking lot near a freeway exit, he said. |

Others on the list disavowed any knowledge of the coalition or their being included in it. So far there has been no indication that the members of the coalition have any plans to meet or communicate in any formal way with each other or the administration.
That’s not very promising. Also on the “not promising” side is the lack of inclusion of leaders of other gun rights organizations or state-level grass-roots groups. |

The National Rifle Association, which spent about $30 million on advertising alone to help Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, is gearing up to push its agenda in Washington next year with Republicans in control of Congress and the White House. The group is placing a priority on Trump’s nomination of a Supreme Court justice to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia, who was appointed to the court in 1986 by President Ronald Reagan. The next president’s ability to tip the balance of the court was a big factor in the NRA’s defense of Trump during the election and the reason for spending an unprecedented amount on his campaign. |

In a memorable scene from Miss Sloane, a high-stakes political drama about a Capitol Hill power broker taking on the gun lobby, the title character—played by an ice-cold Jessica Chastain—describes the job of a lobbyist to a Senate ethics committee that suspects it has backed her into a corner. It’s wrong. “Lobbying is about foresight,” she says. “It’s about making sure you surprise them—and they don’t surprise you.”

A yoga instructor from Texas shot and killed two men who invaded her home on the outskirts of the Chilean capital, authorities said on Friday.
The men broke into the bedroom of 61-year-old Hari Nam Kaur Khalsa, hit her in the head with a weapon and tried to tie her up on Thursday. But prosecutor Osvaldo Soto said that she broke loose, grabbed her own, registered gun from under her pillow and shot them dead. Two other men escaped. |

President-elect Donald Trump will soon have the chance to make good on one of his most consequential campaign promises: fill the Supreme Court vacancy with a judge in the mold of conservative icon Justice Antonin Scalia, who died in February.
Any Trump nominee is almost guaranteed to be a conservative jurist who is anti-abortion and supports the Second Amendment’s right to bear arms.
But what kind of conservative he selects will determine whether his first nominee will be quickly confirmed or instead trigger a fierce fight in the closely divided Senate, potentially overshadowing the early months of Trump’s presidency. |

With a Republican super majority in the Legislature and a newly elected Republican governor, Missouri colleges can probably expect the push for concealed carry on campuses to go all the way in 2017, despite opposition from all 13 public four-year universities.
Missouri is one of more than a dozen states that considered campus carry in 2016. Ten others have adopted similar laws.
Missouri law currently prohibits concealed firearms at higher education institutions “without the consent of the governing body” of that college, the exception to the rule being university law enforcement officers. |

Gun control was an uphill climb in Congress well before Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election.
But now that Trump is less than a month away from taking the oath of office, that climb arguably has turned into vertical scaling of a sheer rock face with rope and harness.
Trump benefited from the National Rifle Association’s endorsement and airing of televised ads that characterized Democrat Hillary Clinton as a threat to Second Amendment rights.
Ed.: Inauguration is actually January 20th, almost two months away. |

Let me get this out of the way: I’m a big fan of CZ’s two hammer-fired DA/SA polymer-frame pistols, the full-size P09 and the P07 compact. The P07 has been my constant companion as my class gun of choice and EDC pistol for most of the year, and I was thrilled to shoot a P09 customized by Cajun Gun Works in Citizen Defense Research’s Armed Parent/Guardian Class. They’re solidly made, reliable, accurate, and the controls of the pistol fit my hands perfectly. |

Guns on campus: Public universities in Kansas will have to open their campuses to concealed firearms in July unless the Legislature changes the law currently on the books.
Faculty and students at several of the state’s universities have raised concerns about the policy, which was passed as part of a 2013 bill that opened up public buildings to firearms.
Universities must open their campuses to guns starting in July 2017 under the law. Opposition to this policy increased when the Legislature eliminated the requirement that people must go through training to conceal and carry in 2015. |

He'll hunt with a few friends and family members, including his nephew Caiden. |

Shoppers flocked to gun stores on Black Friday, the biggest day of the year for gun sales.
The Black Friday weapon sales are not driven by the Christmas spirit since gun laws in many states prohibit buying guns for someone else. The sales are driven by sharp discounts.
Not far from New York City, hundreds of shoppers packed into RTSP, a gun shop and firing range in Randolph, New Jersey, lured by Black Friday discounts of 5% to 10% for guns, ammunition and accessories. |

Like most things, suppressors, as they are more correctly know, are more complicated that that. Since 1934, silencers, as they are called in the National Firearms Act (NFA) are regulated. There is pending legislation, the Hearing Protection Act (HPA) which seeks to remove silencers from the NFA to mitigate the costs of hearing loss. US Special Operations Command has provided their forces with suppressors and the Marines are experimenting with suppressing all of their weapons. |
