For generations, hunters have used lead ammo, but a new group is trying to spread the word about lead-free ammo to help protect the environment and wildlife from lead poisoning.

Sporting Lead-Free, a Wyoming hunting group, wants to prove the value of switching ammo and tackle to local sportsmen and women. The group hopes to reduce lead consumed inadvertently by people and wildlife and show the positives of choosing tackle and ammo that doesn’t poison the environment.

“The more I’m out interacting with the animals in their habitat and appreciating that I have the opportunity, the more I care about the animals,” said Kai Whitehill, a hunter who uses lead-free ammo.

Ed.: N.B. The group is 100% opposed to legislation to ban lead bullets.

“Kyle’s Law” would require the jury instruction on self-defense include a special question to the jury: “If you the jury are acquitting this defendant on the grounds of self-defense, do you also find that the prosecution failed to disprove self-defense by a majority of the evidence?”

If the jury answers this in the positive, the defendant is entitled to compensation not only from the state but also from the prosecutor personally. Additionally, the charging police officer will be held accountable as well.

Just two companies, Vista Outdoor and Olin Corp, meet the bulk of America’s demand for ammunition, and chiefly through two long-established brands. Remington, part of Vista, was founded in 1816, and Winchester Ammunition, owned by Olin Corp, started in 1866. Because of soaring demand for bullets, both firms are enjoying the sort of heady growth that only new businesses usually enjoy.

Just for starters: Killing two people is mass murder now? Sure looks like the social-media giant’s staff just reached for the nearest excuse to suppress posts that conflicted with their personal prejudices — and no higher-up bothered to correct the call.

The blackout went far and wide: Facebook actively policed its users for pro-Kyle Rittenhouse posts and removed the content. It even targeted posts from legal scholars arguing the merits of his self-defense case.

Deer rifle season is a highly anticipated time in the local north woods, with area hunters and visitors searching out their prize buck, or just extra meat for the winter.

Hunting is largely a tradition passed down by generations of families in the area. Lake County has often been picked as choice hunting grounds before the county was even organized in 1871.

The pages of local history, as documented in past area newspapers, tell of many deer hunting adventures, some amusing, some anything but amusing.

So once the Supreme Court allows me to carry a concealed weapon while walking around New York City, it sounds like I would be justified in shooting someone anytime my life is threatened. Perhaps the next time a strange man follows me home, I should shoot him. Or if a catcaller says something about raping me or if I'm alone in a subway car and a man sits down next to me -- perhaps I should shoot them all.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said on Thursday that he would introduce a "National Stand Your Ground Law" as a reaction to Kyle Rittenhouse's prosecution.

Gaetz made the announcement on his Firebrand podcast.

"I do not believe in imposing on Americans a duty to retreat when someone else attempts to commit a felony against a victim," the lawmaker opined.

Gaetz said that gun owners on a "stroll" should have the option of killing anyone who threatens them.

It appears to me that the jury’s decision was properly decided because the Wisconsin law on which it was based is both immoral and insane, and a bungling prosecution was outmatched by a $2 million defense fund provided by gun advocates.

These assertions are informed by my experience as a newspaper reporter covering crime and two manslaughter trials, a life-long interest in crime and justice, and watching far too many hours of television reporting on the Rittenhouse trial and other sensational trials.

The Neo-Marxist/Neoliberal Globalist goal is to dismantle the Republic.

To accomplish that task it is necessary to disrupt the underpinnings of our society. That society is predicated on the tenets, precepts, and principles of Individualism and on the Judeo-Christian ethic, not the amoral tenets, precepts, and principles of Collectivism, permeating throughout society. The manipulation of language plays an important part in the attempt to transform America into a Collectivist Dictatorship.

In North America, however, land was readily available, and possession of guns was universal as hunting with firearms was a primary means of survival. Rural homes depended on arms to help feed their large families, as well as to provide physical protection and fulfill local militia demands. The heavily wooded terrain of the New World, in turn, provided a bounty of game ranging from turkeys, geese, ducks and game birds to the larger deer, bear, elk and moose. In order to take advantage of this, the provincials employed various combinations of ball, buckshot, or buck and ball in smoothbore flintlock fowlers which were the forerunners of today’s shotguns. (The rifles developed in Western settlements are not included here.)

You can even see satchels mounted on the rear doors using suction cups, and recovery shoves on the rear fender. The SUV rides on Vossen wheels wrapped in Michelin CrossCliamte tires. The golden wheels surprisingly gel well with wrap color and overall, the SUV looks handsome. The cabin doesn’t have a lot of radical stuff, other than the espresso and black seats with Velcro pile in the headrests and the BRCC logo on them. Oh, and there are machine guns in the rear. What?!

Ed.: Ladies and gentlemen, time to update those Christmas lists!

Two New York City police officers were shot by a "career criminal" suspect on the eve of Thanksgiving in the Bronx, which Mayor Bill de Blasio pinned on there being "too many guns out there."

"It’s another example of a gun from out of state, comes into our city, hurts a New Yorker," de Blasio said. "This is something we’ve got to deal with in a whole different way.

In an effort to offer a safe space for gun owners to dispose of their firearms, San Mateo County is holding a gun buyback event next month.

The buyback event, scheduled for Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1000 Skyway Rd. in San Carlos, strives to get guns off the street and promote gun safety, as gun owners get financial compensation for each weapon they turn in.

The event will accept any firearm, from a handgun to a shotgun, assault weapons, and ghost guns. It also will be completely anonymous.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
The "assault weapon" ban didn't stop the [World Trade Center/Pentagon] terrorists, Brady checks didn't stop them, the high capacity magazine ban didn't. Right to Carry would have. If it had saved only one tower and the people in it, it would have been worth it. GUN CONTROL KILLS. — LTC Stasski, 9/11/01
