Ruger came out with its Light Compact Pistol (LCP) in 2008, a sleek-sided, locked-breech, hammer-fired semi-automatic subcompact handgun chambered in .380 ACP for self-defense and concealed carry. It took only nine years for the company to sell 1.5 million. American Rifleman’s video review of the gun explains a lot about the popularity, but the company has never been content to rest on its past accomplishments. |

Since its introduction in 1887 by Stevens Arms, what is now the .22 Long Rifle has become a staple for American shooters and outdoorsmen. The “22” rifle is undoubtedly one of the most popular training, plinking, and small game hunting tools in existence, and there is hardly a hunter who doesn’t own at least one. One would only guess at the number of hunters and shooters who were brought up shooting Dad’s “22.” Despite its age, the demand and innovation for .22 LR chambered firearms is as strong as it’s ever been, and this quaint little cartridge has been the driver for many iconic models and families of firearms over the years. |

With Christmas knocking on our door, there have been many conversations about purchasing a child’s first gun.
Even more important with this type of gift, many children will be introduced to safe shooting sports and the traditional activity of responsible hunting, one of the purest forms of outdoor activities.
Through the years I have been fortunate to have been involved with the selection of many firearms presented to children of all ages and have learned some things for which to pay attention. |

Gun shop owners say that despite guns often being a high-demand gift, one thing is different this year. There’s an ammunition shortage.
The Owner of Gulf Coast Clay’s Gun Club, in Collier County, Correy Rugg, lives and breathes guns. So you can imagine how much he’s heard about the recent shortage of ammo.
“It seems like anywhere you go if you want to buy any kind of ammo at all it’s really tough to come by,” Rugg said. |

“What really mattered for people buying guns was if they had a child at home. Have you been shot or threatened, or do you know someone who was killed by a gun? Those were the major predictors as to why people bought guns. We asked people, why would you buy a gun during a pandemic? The number one reason was to protect myself and my family,” Khubchandani said.

Khubchandani hopes lawmakers can utilize this study when coming up with new gun laws in their state. |

For some reason they did not see that Biden does not like the first or second amendment to the Constitution. He also plans to raise taxes considerably. Actually, he has expressed the fact that he wants government control over all the aspects of our lives.
Those are not my idea of a "moderate Democrat." His professed program is one of government control. |

Like many small businesses, Action Impact firearms wondered how busy Black Friday would be this year. Their worry however wasn’t due to a lack of customers.
“How big is the number of customers I have left to service," wondered Action Impact owner William Kucyk. “I don’t know who’s left to sell guns to, I just don't.”
Black Friday is usually their busiest day of the year, but 2020 has been by far the busiest year to date. Action Impact has had a tough time keeping enough guns and ammo in stock to handle the demand. |

There are some gun repairs or modifications that are no big deal, and there are some that you should probably leave to a gunsmith.
It’s kind of like working on your car; there are some things that aren’t a big deal and some things that you should probably leave to a mechanic. Oil change, most minor repairs…go ahead! Rebuilding the engine? You might want to leave that to professionals.
Unless you already are a mechanic, of course. |

Beretta's new 92X Performance 9 mm pistol ($1,399, beretta.com) is a nice-looking handgun with the kind of eye appeal that demands it be picked up and handled. When you first pick it up out of the case you cannot help but notice its heft. This is no wonder nine polymer pistol; it is a steel-frame handgun with a little bit of heft that lends to its durable and rugged feel. This isn’t your ordinary 92, but a race-ready-built model packed with features. |
