Florio said the Supreme Court's decision not to take up the case is a vote for common sense.
"I don't know anybody except the zealots who think it is not a reasonable restriction," Florio said. "The best evidence is that nobody in the Legislature is offereing any kind of legislation to make any changes." |

Maryland children also committed slayings with a handgun at a higher rate than any state surveyed, according to the study.
Virginia, a state with gun control laws that are far less sweeping than Maryland's, ranked 19th in the number of children who died from handgun violence. It was 15th in the number of children who used a handgun in a killing. |

Derrick Van's fortunes as a burglar turned on a dime, police said... He walked into a rear bedroom and accidentally dropped some coins. Bending down to pick them up, he saw a man hiding under the bed, holding a phone in one hand, and on the line was the Police Department. In the other hand, the man held a .357 Magnum. He fired five shots, striking the burglar 3 times, in the ankle, thigh, and groin.

Someone explain to me why Michigan cops pronounce judgements to the press regarding ongoing cases.
BTW - by their own admission, the cops didn't arrive until seven minutes after being called. |

Regarding "anti-terrorism" laws passed by Congress:
"Almost all of the new laws focus on American citizens rather than potential foreign terrorists ... you now may be considered a terrorist if you belong to a pro-constitution group, a citizens militia, or various pro-life organizations. Legitimate protest against the government could place you...under federal surveillance ... your internet provider can be forced to hand over user information to law enforcement without a warrant..." |

An "overwhelming majority" of Americans believe that "laws making it easier" for "regular citizens" to carry concealed firearms undermine public safety, the results of "a recent survey" reveal.
"while gun carrying may make the gun carrier feel safer it makes most other Americans feel less safe," says the study's lead author. Harvard "Researchers" add that "permissive laws regarding gun carrying should be revisited."
KABA NOTE: Laws should not be based on "feelings", but on the TRUTH. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
To prohibit a citizen from wearing or carrying a war arm . . . is an unwarranted restriction upon the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of constitutional privilege. [Wilson v. State, 33 Ark. 557, at 560, 34 Am. Rep. 52, at 54 (1878)] |
