The Super Shock Tip (SST) is a bullet style created by Hornady and is used in a variety of their rifle rounds. All of the most common centerfire calibers, from .243 to .308, are offered with the SST bullet.
This particular bullet is quite popular among reloaders because it’s high-quality polymer tipped and has an expanding bullet that is extremely versatile. It can be used for everything – from backyard shooting to varmint control to big-game hunting – and the boat-tail design makes it relatively easy for reloaders to work with. |

The Chinese Coronavirus (COVID-19) hit American shores — officially, anyway, there is significant evidence that it arrived earlier — in late January 2020. The American public was then told that a two-week shutdown of the economy would “flatten the curve,” relieving the pressure on hospital intensive care units and saving lives in the long run.
The average American, including conservatives, being people of good faith, complied, thinking that this was a common-sense measure that would save lives in the wake of a new and mysterious pandemic. |

When Democrat Joe Biden initially posted his gun control scheme online several months ago, he talked about banning future sale of so-called “assault weapons” and “large capacity magazines,” and regulating the ones already owned under the National Firearms Act requiring payment of a federal tax on every item.
Now the full potential cost of such a program has been revealed by a Washington Free Beacon analysis, and the bill could come to $34 billion. |

The mayor of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin is taking some heat for what critics suggest might qualify as one of the dumbest remarks in recent memory from a public official in the wake of a shooting at the city’s Mayfair Mall for which he touted the “gun free” designation of the establishment, lamenting that if the shooter had only the restriction nobody would have been hurt.
Police have now arrested the 15-year-old suspect along with two other persons, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. They have recovered the gun allegedly used in the confrontation, in which eight people were injured. |

The so-called "Combating Violence, Disorder and Looting and Law Enforcement Protection Act," recently proposed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is essentially a broad expansion of the state’s controversial "Stand Your Ground" law that leans into fearmongering and propaganda in order to play on our deep political divides rather than unite Florida residents on important issues of public safety.

Ruger came out with its Light Compact Pistol (LCP) in 2008, a sleek-sided, locked-breech, hammer-fired semi-automatic subcompact handgun chambered in .380 ACP for self-defense and concealed carry. It took only nine years for the company to sell 1.5 million. American Rifleman’s video review of the gun explains a lot about the popularity, but the company has never been content to rest on its past accomplishments. |

Democrat Senate candidate Jon Ossoff (GA) is endorsed by Giffords, the Gabby Giffords-founded gun control group focused on firearm laws and legislation.
Ossoff is headed toward a January 5, 2021, runoff election against incumbent Sen. David Perdue (R-GA). And whereas Perdue is pro-Second Amendment, anti-gun control, Ossoff wants to ban the sales of semiautomatic rifles and magazines Democrats deem “high capacity.” |

The 6.8 SPC cartridge was developed due to troubling reports about failures of the 5.56 NATO cartridge to incapacitate enemy soldiers. During a development project led by a soldier of the 5th Special Forces Group and a member of the Army Marksmanship Unit, the goal was to create an enhanced rifle cartridge that was compatible with the M4 carbine—AR15—with minimal changes to the weapon. |

It wasn’t all that long ago that the idea of American citizens packing guns for personal defense was almost unheard of. And today, a relatively short time later, well over half of our United States have some form of shall-issue firearms permit. More than a dozen states don’t even require a permit at all. It is clear to me that more and more Americans are realizing that they are responsible for their own safety. Statistics show that violent crime continues to drop and I believe that this is because the crooks know that citizens are fed up with their violent antics. |

Since its introduction in 1887 by Stevens Arms, what is now the .22 Long Rifle has become a staple for American shooters and outdoorsmen. The “22” rifle is undoubtedly one of the most popular training, plinking, and small game hunting tools in existence, and there is hardly a hunter who doesn’t own at least one. One would only guess at the number of hunters and shooters who were brought up shooting Dad’s “22.” Despite its age, the demand and innovation for .22 LR chambered firearms is as strong as it’s ever been, and this quaint little cartridge has been the driver for many iconic models and families of firearms over the years. |

Stars mottle a moonless sky as a squad of duck hunters count the minutes to dawn. The air temperature is in the low 40s, but the edge of a sharp breeze seeps through insulated layers of modern fabrics. It stings the cheeks, but it feels different in the dark woods than it does when crossing a parking lot. It's a sensation that I have associated with duck hunting since I first felt it as a child. |
