This is a 23-page letter to the local AZ paper from Robert Stewart Flores Jr -- the man who killed three employees of Arizona University and then killed himself -- entitled, "Communication from the dead." He wrote the lengthy letter before he went on the shooting spree.
Be sure to go to the other links to see how the paper totally disregards what this man claims his motives were and skews them completely. |

" 'You would get a far better understanding if you approached us as if you were approaching one of the great religions of the world,' Warren Cassidy, former executive vice president of the National Rifle Association, said some 20 years ago. It's definitely time for a clear separation of the NRA 'church' - read cult - and state."
"And when NRA President Charlton Heston, who cheerfully appeared at a gun rally in the midst of the Beltway sniper madness, inspires his supporters by saying his gun will be taken only from 'my cold, dead hands,' it's time for sane citizens to speak up." ... ------- Amen, sister. Mr. Heston should have been holding up a banned firearm -- or at least a politically incorrect one. Something like, say, a Bushmaster .223 with a scope, an "enough capacity" magazine, and a folding tripod. |

For political, if not humanitarian reasons, many are demanding the introduction and legal mandating of “personalized” weapons systems, i.e. firearms that “know” through some mechanism who is activating them, before they can be fired. Often, the public pressure for laws and studies is devoid of a greater practical or scientific context. This paper seeks to examine the (practical or not) path that firearms development may take should such pressures continue. |

"Police are following up a number of 'very useful' leads in the hunt for a serial rapist stalking the Home Counties."
"One week ago, a 14-year-old girl was grabbed from behind and raped at knifepoint on a footpath near Collenswood School."
"Until he is caught, women in the Home Counties area have been warned not to wear headphones and walk alone in wooded areas." ------- Be a good victim and don't fight... You don't want to "escalate the violence." [And definitely avoid areas that the State has designated as likely hunting grounds for your dignity -- those areas are now given over to predators.]

Unlike NRA, Gun Owners of America publishes their candidate surveys and the exact results they get back -- you don't have to guess at who stands with you in your gun rights, and you don't have to trust the NRA, who still gives "A" grades to gun grabbers.
The main top link above takes you to GOA's State Alerts page. Click on your state and look up top for the "General Election Candidate Survey Results".
A couple of states aren't there yet, but they will be soon -- and you can sign up on GOA's email list to get clued in, just in time to cast your vote. |

"Last Friday, as I was coming into work, I saw a friend of mine engaged in an animated discussion with the security guard. My friend walked out of the building looking disgusted, and I followed to find out what the trouble was. Turns out that Jim (not his real name) had committed an egregious faux pas: he had brought several shotguns to work in the trunk of his car. No, he was not preparing to go on a killing spree; he was going hunting after work. Because he had several thousand dollars worth of firearms in the car, he asked security to keep an eye on his vehicle. They responded by making him move his car off the property. A guard was dispatched to ensure that he did so." ...

Junk science, sloppy criticism, and — worst of all — false history are all used to foster anti-American public opinion and mis-direct policy decisions. "...the problem remains that guns are so easy to obtain by people with criminal intentions."
" 'For whatever reason, they appear to be readily available,' Braley said." [Yep -- kinda like they are in Great Britain, where they are completely banned.]

"Delaware Family Court judges grant more than 1,800 protection orders to battered women and men annually, but for three recent homicide victims - Lettie Lyons, Stacey Dawkins and Julie Marie Gallegos - the orders apparently were not enough."
"Domestic violence experts insist such orders are useful tools that must be coupled with criminal prosecutions, safety plans and temporary shelters to be most effective. Even then, they said, they aren't foolproof." ------- How about a firearm for self-defense? "When FBI agents arrested Seattle police Officer Steve Slaughter last week and accused him of stealing heroin from drug dealers while on duty, he asked to remove his uniform shirt in order to 'not dishonor the Police Department any further.' " [Sure. And here's a cyanide pill, in case you'd like to save the taxpayers you've been deceiving a lot of money.]
"So testified FBI Special Agent Maria Foster yesterday afternoon in U.S. District Court as Slaughter sat silently with downcast eyes and heard four federal felony charges lodged against him."
"U.S. Magistrate Judge Monica Benton found there is probable cause to charge Slaughter with possession of heroin, intent to distribute that heroin and extortion. As Benton announced her decision, she called the extortion charge even 'more alarming and more disturbing' than the others because it involved the threatened use of force while acting as a police officer." ...
CLUE:
"The threatened use of force while acting as a police officer" is exactly what a gun owner feels when he or she encounters a police officer while carrying a firearm in contradiction to an unConstitutional gun law -- as happens in nearly every state in this country. Accurate assessment by the judge; we see it every day, all across America -- aimed at people who have the gumption to exercise their Second Amendment rights. |

"The president of the National Coalition for Gun Control says some revolvers should be included in a total ban on semi-automatic hand guns." ...
"Samantha Lee ...says semi-automatics are a first step in the battle because of their firepower and quick firing rate."
" 'For now we're actually concentrating on the most lethal in terms of velocity and magazine capacity, which is the semi-automatic hand guns,' she said."
"Some revolvers do actually fall into the semi-automatic category."
CLUE:
Semi-automatic loading mechanisms on handguns do not increase projectile velocity. If anything, muzzle velocity is slightly reduced in a semi-auto, as a result of the recoil's use of some of the energy to eject the empty shell casing and reload the weapon. This anti-gun fanatic -- like so many of her kind -- doesn't have the faintest idea what she's talking about; she's merely using buzz words to scare equally ignorant sheep who listen to her whining.
QUESTION:
What shall we do about the widespread proliferation of "semi-automatic revolvers"? |

"One, the Brady Act, requires background checks of gun buyers; the other bans the manufacture and sale of certain semiautomatic firearms, and also bans ammunition magazines containing more than 10 rounds. The laws 'sunset' after 10 years unless Congress extends them."
" 'Max thinks both laws should sunset,' Lombardi said in a telephone interview Friday." ... |
