With North Dakota’s deer hunting opener looming – and making big news in several newspapers around the state – it’s difficult to tell whether hunters in the Peace Garden State will pick a new U.S. Senator Tuesday after the state Democratic Party hit a new low last week by attempting to convince hunters not to vote, claiming they could risk their out-of-state hunting licenses if they vote.
The advertisement appeared to create the impression that hordes of North Dakotans have “resident” hunting licenses in other states that would be jeopardized by voting in North Dakota. The Associated Press and Politifact declared last Friday that the ad, which appeared on the party’s website and on social media, “is false.” Two questions arise. |

The U.S. Supreme Court for a second straight year refused on Monday to hear a challenge to California's limits on carrying handguns in public, dealing another setback to gun rights proponents. The court's action underscored its continued reluctance to step into a national debate over gun control roiled by a series of mass shootings including the one at a Pittsburgh synagogue that killed 11 people on Oct. 27. It has not taken up a major gun case since 2010. |

Kavanaugh accusers lied through their teeth trying to harm Trump but almost destroyed a man and his family by their lies. The political party behind this that financed and promoted it should be ashamed of themselves. But no such luck.

I hate to sound like a whiner, but it sure seemed like everything I did that November morning in northeast Texas was a struggle. Heck, it should’ve been more like a semi-luxury deer hunt, what with the private lease’s ready-made blinds, food plots, ATVs and abounding whitetails, but in reality it was a strain to even drag my bones through the cabin door before dawn. Then there was the odyssey of monkeying myself into the Ranger, wheeling into the dark woods and battling the brambles before parking myself in the blind—all without slumping over backward and breaking my neck. |

Pittsburghers go to the polls Tuesday, just a little over a week after a gunman killed 11 Jews inside a Squirrel Hill synagogue. The massacre turned local elected officials’ attention back to guns, with some calling for stricter regulations, while people at several vigils chanted “Vote! Vote! Vote!” With Squirrel Hill now being synonymous with the nationwide gun control debate, here’s a brief rundown of where Allegheny County’s midterm candidates stand on the issue.

The Democratic candidate for Georgia governor insists she just wanted to start a "conversation" about guns. But if Stacey Abrams had been successful in the state legislature, some of those conversations would be over and law enforcement would be reading Miranda rights to arrested gun owners in the Peach State. Just two years ago, as a state lawmaker, Abrams co-sponsored House Bill 731, legislation that makes the Clinton-era assault weapons ban seem timid in comparison. And when pushed by CNN's Jake Tapper to explain whether she supports gun confiscation, Abrams dodged.

Bernstein, the owner of gun range and gun retailer in Colorado Springs, Colo., says any local rabbi who would like to protect his temple can come in for a free AR-15 and ammunition.
