"Chicago police are expected to videotape anti-globalization demonstrators today under intelligence-gathering powers they have regained from the courts after a two-decade ban."

"Department rules that took effect Oct. 25 also permit officers to pose as members of groups as long as the intelligence-gathering has a legitimate law-enforcement purpose. And the rules let officers surf the Internet to scan groups' Web sites for information about them."

" 'In the past, you could only turn on the camera after a crime was committed, and you could only film the commission of a crime,' said Larry Rosenthal, a deputy corporation counsel for the city. 'Now, we will have cameras out there to document demonstrators' misconduct, as well as police misconduct if it occurs.' "

"Harvey Grossman, legal director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois, said he fears camera-wielding police would scare people from exercising their constitutional right to protest." ...

"Chicago street gang members bought dozens of assault rifles and other firearms from a licensed gun dealer in Mississippi and then sold them in Chicago at lucrative profits, prosecutors charged Wednesday in U.S. District Court here."

"In court papers, prosecutors have alleged that many of the weapons were used in crimes, including a murder in Florida."

"Trial on a gunrunning charge opened Wednesday for the Mississippi gun dealer, Jimmy Doyle Wren, and Charles Yarbor, a reputed Gangster Disciples gang member from Chicago."

"In opening remarks to the jury, Assistant U.S. Atty. T. Markus Funk alleged Yarbor and two other gang members drove to Grenada, Miss., and sold crack cocaine at prices at least double what they could get in Chicago."

"They then used the drug profits to buy dozens of SKS assault rifles, 9 millimeter semiautomatic handguns and other weapons from Wren at prices ranging from $140 to $165 per gun, Funk said."

"Back in Chicago, Yarbor and the others sold the guns to Gangster Disciples and Vice Lords gang members at $1,000 to $2,000 a weapon, Funk alleged." ...

"A 14 year old high school student was arrested for a racially motivated assault on another student. Police say a fight broke out on campus Wednesday between two Yucca Valley High School girls. One girl is white, the other is black. Investigators also say witnesses heard the white girl yelling racial insults while the girls were fighting. Now police are charging the white student with a hate crime. That makes the assault charges against her a felony offense." ...

Meanwhile, the black Carr brothers in Kansas, who murdered five white people after forcing them to have sex with each other and then raped the women repeatedly before robbing and executing them were never charged with a "hate crime."

Message: It's a "hate crime" to call a black person a name they call each other, but not a "hate crime" to force white women to have sex and then shoot them in the head in a field of snow after robbing them blind.

Makes perfect sense... to Democrats.

"The University of Cincinnati engineering student who killed his ex-girlfriend and her friend Monday bought the shotgun less than four hours before at Wal-Mart in Columbia Township, police said."

"Nicklaus Joyce told a roommate the gun was for a hunting trip he planned to take this weekend, Cincinnati homicide Detective Bob Randolph said Wednesday." ...

"Investigators aren't sure how long Mr. Joyce was in the condo before the shootings, Detective Randolph said. They know Michael Duke went to bed about 11 p.m. and woke up when he heard the gunshots that killed his sister and the man she had met in physics class and just started dating."

"Mr. Duke grabbed his cordless phone, hid in his bedroom closet and dialed 911, whispering for the police to come in a hurry." ...

If Michael Duke's sister actually needed some help -- it was apparently already too late -- she'd have died waiting, while her brother was in the closet soiling his panties and calling on someone else to be a man for him.

"A federal jury Wednesday rejected the excessive force claim of a Claymont man who was hit in the head by a state police officer and whose dog was shot to death while troopers were searching in Dagsboro for a fugitive on a nine-day crime spree."

"The jury in U.S. District Court in Wilmington ruled against Herbert J. Douglas Sr. who filed a civil rights lawsuit accusing Sgt. Patrick A. Ogden of using excessive force when he hit Douglas in the head with a heavy metal flashlight."

"The jury of five men and three women took less than an hour to decide the case after a three-day trial in which both sides agreed that Ogden hit Herbert in the head, but argued about whether it was excessive force. Earlier this year, Herbert pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest in connection with the raid." ...

"Ogden's attorney, Deputy Attorney General Gregg E. Wilson, said that Ogden reacted the way any reasonable police officer would in a stressful situation when confronted by a man not obeying his commands." ...

"Douglas sued Ogden and several other state police officers last year, claiming that his Fourth Amendment right not to be subjected to an unreasonable search and seizure was violated by a group of masked troopers who broke into his home while searching for convicted car thief Brian Humphries. The teen was wanted in cases that included carjacking and leading police on a chase through Brandywine Hundred. A police officer rushing to join that chase was seriously injured in a crash."

"All of the claims in Douglas' lawsuit were thrown out except the case against Ogden, who admitted hitting Douglas in the head during the raid. Ogden was part of a state police team sent to Douglas' vacation trailer in Dagsboro because one of Douglas' stepchildren was a friend of Humphries, Aber said."

"Douglas received only five stitches, did not lose consciousness or have a concussion, Wilson told the jury, quoting hospital records."

"Police had to shoot the family pit bull to death when it attacked an officer, said Wilson, who noted that officers who went inside the home had a warrant."

Moral of the Story:

A "warrant" means -- to this jury and many others -- that if you don't obey the commando team invading your home, anything goes. Land of the...umm... what's the last word?

"Chandler Police Officer Dan Lovelace is being arrested and charged with second-degree murder Thursday in the shooting [in the back] death of [unarmed mother-of-three] Dawn Rae Nelson, 35, on Oct. 11."

"Maricopa County Attorney Rick Romley also announced that Lovelace is charged with reckless endangerment because Nelson's 13-month-old son was in the back seat at the time of the shooting. The child was unharmed."

"Lovelace shot Nelson after she was stopped outside a Walgreens Drug Store at Dobson and Warner roads on suspicion of passing a forged prescription. Romley said Thursday that forensic evidence indicated that Nelson was shot slightly from the rear and that Lovelace was not in danger when he fired. 'Officer Lovelace was at the back of the car moving toward the driver's door,' Romley said."

"Romley said that in a radio transmission after the shooting, Lovelace said that a person had tried to run him over and he had to shoot, but that the evidence contradicted that claim."

"Although initially police said Lovelace shot the Ahwatukee Foothills mother of three after she rammed his motorcycle with her Camaro, they backed off that statement." ...
-------
This is the second death of a citizen in which this officer was involved. The first one, mentioned at the link above, resulted in a $1.4 million dollar settlement awarded to the parents of the citizen Mr. Lovelace killed.

"Michael A. Wilkins, a lawyer in Indianapolis, will not be welcome in the Indiana courts for 30 days starting in early December. Ohio Senate President Richard Finan has changed his mind and won't delay HB274's progress due to the Ohio Supreme Court election. While this is great news, there is bad news. The Senate is now working with the FOP, who has refused to budge in two years, and the FOP will likely water down this piece of legislation heavily. The compromises MUST stop.

Tell your Senators: No more gun control, no FOP compromises, and pass this bill now Use This Tool Now
