"Incrementalism has proved depressingly effective as a tool for getting most people to quietly surrender their rights piecemeal. For gradually habituating them to an ever-diminishing circle of liberty. When the circle finally closes and their rights no longer exist at all, they hardly notice ..."

"This is how the citizens of the United States will be disarmed."

... "Hagler wastes little time expressing his belief that the explanation lies solely in the last sentence above, spending one sentence each dismissing a potential 'assault weapons' ban (and conveniently ignoring the possibility that Obama would try to impose such a ban despite Congress and the will of the American people) or UN treaty as motivation behind the enormous sales figures. In contrast, he mentions fear of a 'black liberal president' six times in his one-page column, and simply 'Black President' one time each in the title and photo caption." ...

"An anti-gun owner initiative considered in Washington could lead to massive civil disobedience and a severe domestic crisis, gun law expert John M. Snyder warned on Friday."

"Synonymous with the USMC since 1998, the Benelli M4 has been a true workhorse for close-quarter and short range combat. Its reputation has been built on its durability, accuracy, and how well it cycles a variety of rounds, from low-power non-lethal cartridges, such as those sending rubber bullet and rubber buckshot, all the way up to very lethal, hi-power rounds like rifled slugs and saboted slugs. If you remember in the 1980s, how demoralizing it was for the bad guys to see their defensive brick or cinderblock wall falling away from them because the good guys were sending the new-at-the time, Brenneke saboted 12 gauge slug their way, you were immediately converted as I was!" ...

"The 1911, to many shooters, seems a bit antiquated. At more than 100 years old, the 1911 stands as an icon of past wars. It is a symbol. Yet people keep trying to make it new, as if changing up some of the materials, or altering the lines a little bit might convince the nonbelievers that the 1911 is still relevant. An aluminum or polymer receiver. A bobbed grip. A new caliber."

"I'm a believer. I don't need any of these refinements to see the beauty and incredible efficiency of the 1911. And the folks at Springfield Armory seem to agree with me. They're dedicated to the 1911. This time last year, I was smitten with their Range Officer. That gun comes in around $800, and shoots way out of its price range. ..." ...

"Still Buzzing 80 Years Later!"

"My grandparents lived in the 'filet mignon' part of the city. We resided in the 'hamburger/hotdog' section. I enjoyed sleepovers with the old folks because, although foreigners, today they would be called cool. Grandpa, a blue-ribbon chef, prepared special fare for me on request. I could order up a rack of lamb followed by Baked Alaska at any time. Down on the corner lived Jim Martin, older than I, and tolerant of my incessant and often ill-designed shooting questions. Jim allowed me to tag along on jackrabbit safaris."

"A balanced approach to gun control in the United States would require the warring sides to agree on several contentious issues. Conservative gun-rights advocates should acknowledge that if more states had stringent universal background checks—or if a federal law put these in place—more guns would be kept out of the hands of criminals and the dangerously mentally unstable1. They should also acknowledge that requiring background checks on buyers at gun shows would not represent a threat to the Constitution2. ..." ...

"A recent article in The Atlantic, 'The Case for More Guns (And More Gun Control),' makes a perhaps surprisingly sincere effort in seeking balance in the gun rights/'gun control' debate. Author Jeffrey Goldberg makes no effort to hide his desire for various infringements on that which shall not be infringed--banning private sales, more intrusive background checks on prospective buyers, etc. On the other hand, he seems to have accepted (if without enthusiasm) that people equipped for self-defense are safer than those who are not." ...
