"In these days of frequent anti-hunting and anti-gun tirades by some celebrities, it's surprising when someone of prominence steps forward and admits a love for one or both."
KABA NOTE: Celebrities listed in the article include: Steven Spielberg, who's movies are rabidly anti-gun, and Ted Turner, who is obviously a big-time elitist as he actively supports the anti-gun lobby and media.
Most celebrities won't talk about their gun use because they are afraid of "being blacklisted by industry leaders" -- like Ted Turner, for example. |

This reads like our government in a microcosm. Note that Omar "pledged to be responsible for [the people's] safety," if they just turned in their guns. They complied; the rest is history.
One wonders if the rest of the world can ever wake up from its stupor and notice all of the horrific acts that have followed disarmament... |

The night before activist Terry Hanks had to show up at City Hall to turn in the 2,268 signatures he had gathered to get a measure to create a police review board on the ballot, he was arrested and jailed.
Police said Hanks was wearing a "bandoleer-type sling that held live rounds of ammunition." He is "suspected of being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition and a firearm, and of possession of an illegal billy club."
The signatures were turned in on time, however. |

Using newspaper clippings and interviews with police, the authors collected information on 172 slayings at schools.
A school-related violent death was defined as one that happened at school, on the way to or from school, or at an off-campus school function.
KABA NOTE: Despite their finding that "school violence is rare", they still fabricated that "more children were somehow gaining access to handguns without supervision, allowing them to turn...small acts of aggression into massacres." |

Experts want a new system to evaluate "the risk factor of people as they make reservations" that will collect a wide variety of information voluntarily revealed during ticket purchase -- including point of departure, method of payment, credit history, and residence. With cooperation of world governments, it could check if a passenger's ID was lost or stolen. It would also be wired into law-enforcement databases that hold criminal records and information on potential terrorists... |

Fear of more crime with more gun permits appears unfounded...
State and local law enforcement data indicate Macomb County falls in the middle of the pack among counties its size for armed robberies, homicides and felony weapons offenses - despite having six times the number of concealed weapon permits.
Greater permission to carry concealed weapons doesn't add to the crime problem, but it doesn't reduce it either. |

The father of a girl murdered in the Dunblane massacre is criticising attempts to relax the handgun ban. Some MPs want it relaxed to allow shooting competitors to practice for next year's Commonwealth Games.
Seventeen MPs support the plan to ask Home Secretary David Blunkett to give special dispensation to those competing in the Manchester games. At the moment, the competitors have to go to a special range in Switzerland to practice as their guns are banned in the UK. |

The video for his new track, 'Got Ur Self A Gun', will portray the shootings that killed famous hip-hop stars.
"It's not promoting violence, promoting guns in a stupid way or anything like that. We're promoting a reality of guns in this world and what it's done through history and what it continues to do today," said Nas. "Just look at Biggie and Pac. They're gone because of senseless violence. And that's why I really wanted that in the video, so people could see and learn something." |

In August, U.S. District Judge Paul Brown upheld the City of McKinney's gun range ordinance, which regulates hours of operations, noise levels and use of automatic weapons at all outdoor gun ranges in the city.
The Collin County Gun Range was the only facility affected by the ordinance because it was the only range in the city. "Our attorney has filed an appeal, and hopefully they will overturn the decision, because it was inherently flawed according to our attorneys." |

"For weeks, I have read the views of the Florida Coalition to Stop Gun Violence on this topic, but nothing from Zephyrhills or county residents in support of these views... It would at least be a refreshing change to read the views of other county and city residents with similar viewpoints, if any exist... Where is the problem? It certainly doesn't seem to lie with lawful firearm owners and state-licensed concealed carry permit holders." |
