"Thanks to an on-line forum called StrategyPage.com, it is now clear that the [NRA] 'ain't got nuthin' on the [FBI] when it comes to a zeal for things that go 'B-A-N-G!' because the feds are allegedly buying a couple of guns that really go 'K-A-B-O-O-M!'"
"For years, the NRA has been trashed by a string of halfwits and alarmists over the organization's promotion of shooting sports ... Pseudo-psychologists have lined up to accuse the NRA of being a haven of ... males with big egos, small plumbing and a need to compensate for their, uh, shortcomings ..."
"Well, now, according to StrategyPage, the NRA can probably head for the locker room, because the FBI is apparently in the process of buying a couple of genuine Hell-roaring long-range sniper rifles that will put to shame anything the average NRA member ever wanted." ... |

"I should be beyond surprise at the depth of anti-gun hysteria in MIchael Bloomberg's New York City, but when the City Council decides that 'merely' banning toy guns is not enough, and that the city needs to consider making them more illegal, the inmates are truly running the asylum." ... |

"New evidence about the 2007 Virginia Tech killings shed new light on the arrogance and hypritical stance of University leaders. The murder of 32 students was the worst mass shooting in U.S. history until the Ft. Hood massacre last month and remains the worst school shooting ever on U.S. soil."
"Virginia Tech is no stranger to violence. They had two shootings in the 2006-2007 school year. A student worried about the possibility of another shooting asked school officials to reconsider their 'no guns' policy. School officials not only rebuffed and mocked that request, they also cheered the defeat of a bill that would have allowed their students to defend their own lives with a gun on campus." ... |

"It seems every day we read about the criminals victimizing people from all the local armed robberies and senseless homicide of a local working man to the senseless shootings of four of our country’s brave officers cut down by a hardened criminal pardoned and paroled to the streets."
"Why was a convicted felon sentenced to more than 90 years in prison let out after only serving 11 years? I am so tired of all the anti-gun people trying to dice up the Second Amendment for us law-abiding citizens to protect ourselves against these criminals. The anti-gun movement needs to concentrate more on the laws that are in effect for convicted criminals." ... |

"State Sen. and 4th District congressional candidate Jean Schodorf, R-Wichita, has joined a friend-of-the-court brief urging the Supreme Court to declare the right to own weapons as an individual right nationwide."
"'The Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights clearly authorizes and supports the rights of the individual in keeping and bearing arms,' Schodorf, R-Wichita, said in a written statement. 'This legal brief encourages the United States Supreme Court to take the opportunity … to reinforce individual freedoms, like the right to bear arms, guaranteed to all Americans.'" ... |

"Two people tried to rob a Spring dry cleaning business, but the shop’s manager didn’t let them succeed, KPRC Local 2 reported."
"Harris County sheriff’s deputies said Nam-Duong Nguyen, the manager of the $1 Cleaners in the 18600 block of Kuykendahl Road, saw two people approach the store at about 6:35 p.m. Monday."
"Nguyen said the two were wearing all black and he saw them pull masks over their faces."
"The two crouched down and approached the front door, Nguyen told investigators."
"Nguyen said he saw the two reach into the waistbands for an object. Nguyen, who has a concealed handgun license, pulled out his gun and fired toward the men about three times, investigators said." ... |

"A few editions ago, I responded to Jenny Price's article about how violence is making its way into the better neighborhoods. It is. This week, prominent civil attorney Jeffrey Tidus was shot to death in front of his home in one of L.A's affluent mountain neighborhoods, Palos Verdes Peninsula."
"The question on the lips of many is how this could happen there. The question hasn't reached everyone yet, and some are still shocked at the reality that violence is breaking out of the tough neighborhoods."
"Because there is a lot of violence which is crime-on-crime, you don't usually see such violence in your quieter neighborhoods. Not all of it is crime-on-crime, but a lot of it is ..." ... |

When he was appointed to that court by Democrat Governor Jim Doyle and then stood for retention by the voters, they again rejected him. "Amtrak riders will be able to pack handguns in their checked luggage within a year, under a provision tucked into the final version of the fiscal 2010 omnibus spending bill."
"The Senate-passed Transportation-HUD spending bill included language sponsored by Sen. Roger Wicker , R-Miss., that would have required Amtrak to allow passengers to carry handguns in checked bags by March." ... -------
Submitter's Note: I fell quite certain that there was no attempting to slant this article by A) insinuating in the headline that people could carry their weapons as opposed to "packing" them in their luggage, and 2) by neglecting to mention that the bill addresses all firearms, not just handguns. |

"Back door gun registration is being proposed for Wisconsin ..."
"SB 367 is yet another attempt to infringe upon lawful gun owners in Wisconsin by making it a crime not to report a lost or stolen gun within 48 hours of discovering the loss or theft. I am not clear how anyone will know if a stolen gun that shows up at a crime scene just 5 hours after it was stolen is your gun or to whom it belongs. QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
...If a man lies under oath or procures the lie of another under oath, if he perjures himself or suborns perjury, he is guilty under the statute law. Under the higher law, under the great law of morality and righteousness, he is precisely as guilty if, instead of lying in a court, he lies in a newspaper or on the stump; and in all probability, the evil effects of his conduct are infinitely more widespread and more pernicious. — Teddy Roosevelt - May 12, 1900 |
