As Hamlet the Hunter lifted his deer skull trophy towards the heavens, he posed this missive to the universe, “To magnum or not to magnum? This is the question!”
When it comes to terminal performance on medium to big game animals, it is hard to beat the effectiveness of the 30-06 Springfield and the 7mm Remington Magnum. |

Thanks to Eugene for inviting me to post about some of the developments in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen. Bruen held that New York's limitation of the issuance of permits to carry a handgun to those who officials decide have a special need violates the Second Amendment, which protects from infringement "the right of the people to … bear arms." The government may not limit that right to a privileged class. |

It seems like we have been warning about the Biden Administration’s intent to reclassifyhandguns equipped with braces intended to help disabled veteran shooters for quite some time. There were once signs that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) intended to get out of the practice of making confusing regulations—including those involving stabilizing braces—that appeared to circumvent the authority of Congress to actually define and pass laws regarding firearms.

At the beginning of 2022 we had an opportunity to check out Tisas USA’s 3rd generation of the PX-9 pistol. The 2nd generation was a good gun, but our sample had some quirks that prevented it from really shining. The 3rd generation model included a lot of upgrades both functionally and aesthetically and stands out as probably the highest value offering of the year.

With gun violence and school shootings happening around the country, the topic of discussion is how to keep students safe, Senator Brian Adams a Republican who represents portions of Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties, believes schools need another layer of security.
“What I’m doing is allowing the school districts within my bill to say whether or not if they want the schools to be armed, so I’m going to leave It up to the school districts," said Adams. |

“Yesterday, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) notified us that it intends to destroy the firearms associated with the botched Operation Fast and Furious,” Rep. Jim Jordan, ranking member of the House Committee on the Judiciary, wrote to ATF Director Steven Dettelbach on Dec. 6. “I strongly urge you to reconsider this decision and request that you preserve this evidence.” |

When it comes to firearms knowledge, the New York Times editorial board, or at least the copy editors, might need a refresher course, as the reaction from gun owners over a weekend goof suggests.
Social media erupted over the weekend when the Times editorialized about “America’s Toxic Gun Culture” using a photo of shotgun shells to refer to semiautomatic rifles. |

The company has, on an inconsistent basis, produced handguns, rifles and shotguns during its century-plus existence, but, in recent years, Savage has worked hard at making strides in markets outside of its established, bread-and-butter product line: rifles. The effort has paid dividends, as Savage’s American-made, semi-automatic Renegauge 12-ga. shotguns have made inroads into a very crowded and well-established field.

Today we are looking at the Taran Tactical Innovations’s Copperhead Combat Master. This is the custom upgrade package offered by TTI for your personal Glock. In my humble opinions, if cost was no object, this is how I would mod my Glocks. One, because it’s super cool looking. But second, and more importantly, because of the attention to detail put into the workmanship.
