... "There’s enough circumstantial evidence to warrant uncovering the truth of the matter, and it’s an important enough puzzle piece to see if it truly fits in the overall picture. Recalling that today is the anniversary of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry’s murder, reports about other uniformed officers (and indeed, anyone else) being threatened with Fast and Furious weapons need to be looked into. ..." ...

"How about enforcing the laws you already have on the books? I know it’s kooky, but it just might be crazy enough to work. Mike Bloomberg, MAIG maestro and perpetual anti-gun rights crusader, made bales of hay from the fatal shooting of NYPD officer Peter Figoski. Not that it takes much for hizzoner to hop up on his well worn screw-the-constitution soapbox. But a dead cop is just the kind of never-let-a-crisis-go-to-waste opportunity Mayor Mike just can’t let pass by. It’s positively Pavlovian. Except now that a little time has passed and some of the facts of the case have been uncovered, a few inconvenient truths about the alleged shooter, Lamont Pride (above, center), have come to light…" ...

"Negotiations for a new U.N. Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) are supposed to be finalized in July 2012. Some of its supporters argue it would have no 'impact on the ability of individuals within the United States to acquire and possess firearms.'[1] Even if this is true, it is not the only reason to be concerned about the treaty. But if the treaty comes before the Senate, its domestic effects will be of central importance. While the treaty is not yet complete, analysis of the current draft demonstrates that there are legitimate reasons to be concerned about its potential domestic effects." ...

"There’s only so much you can do with iron sights. I’ve seen people hit the 10 ring from 1,000 yards away using nothing but a M-16 with aperture sights, but what if you’re not on a flat range with a gigantic black dot as your target? What if you need to hit a deer at distance, or a small metal plate? What about if you absolutely cannot miss and lives are on the line? For those who need to make precision shots from long distances and actually see what they’re hitting Leupold has developed the Mark 4 riflescope, and I got my hands on one to test out." ...

... "The point: It is easy to point to self-defense as a good reason to allow people to carry guns around. But a lot harder to point to times when they actually served that function. Especially in our crowded cities, there seems to be less-and-less reason, or justification for allowing the public to go armed. And, in any case, localities should be allowed to determine the gun laws that suit them best."

"And I think most people, save for the most extreme pro-gun elements, would agree with that." ...

Submitter's Note: You are correct sir, this extremist does not agree any more than he would agree that localities should be allowed to determine the racial segregation laws that serve them best. A civil right is a civil right and you may not have mine regardless of where I live.

"First there was the oxymoronic 'gun show loophole'. Now thanks to America's richest mayor we have the equally moronic 'private sale loophole.'"

"In a press conference held today to announce a new 'report' ... New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg launched a full frontal attack on private gun sales and Internet classified sites. In a scene reminiscent from his earlier 'investigations' involving gun shows, Bloomberg's private investigators trolled 10 websites and called 125 private sellers. The sites included Craigslist (which doesn't allow firearms classifieds), Armslist.com, and GlockTalk.com. Supposedly, 77 out of 125 sellers agreed to sell a firearm to someone who self-identified as a prohibited person." ...
