NRA has long opposed any kind of database of law-abiding gun owners, or similar licensing schemes. We have cited many objections, including concerns over the potential for misuse of such information. After a recent demand that states supply the federal government with personal information of people who receive future COVID-19 vaccinations, many have started using the same arguments.

Using the anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Monday called for “gun reforms” to honor the victims of the 2012 shooting that left 20 youngsters and six adults dead.
It’s what Second Amendment activists call “camo speak” for more gun control. Anti-gun Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal chimed in, according to Fox News, declaring the Sandy Hook victims should be honored with “positive action” and he expects the incoming Biden administration will “redouble the efforts against gun violence.” |

ThKamala Harris remembered the December 14, 2012, Sandy Hook Elementary attack by pushing gun control “to keep our children safe.” The “common-sense gun safety” being pushed for the Biden administration includes a ban on the sale of firearms which Democrats label “assault weapons,” as well as a ban on “high capacity” magazines, and the implementation of universal background checks. |

State lawmakers may approve a “stand your ground” bill this week, which would eliminate gun owners’ duty to retreat from danger in public places before using deadly force in self-defense. Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley, Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl and others urged Gov. Mike DeWine to veto the measure if it reaches his desk. Biehl said the measure would make police work more difficult and communities less safe by “encouraging armed vigilantism.” |

On January 1st, 2021, Senate Bill 263 and the identical House Bill 264 go into effect. As a result, electronic or online firearm training courses will no longer be accepted with new applications for the Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP), to satisfy the mandatory training requirement. Mandatory training requirements are yet another cost prohibitive measure intended to ensure that lower income Americans are barred from defending themselves. The option of online or electronic training courses ensured that CHPs are accessible to all law-abiding citizens, regardless of financial means. |

NRA-ILA is counting down the legislative lumps of coal that anti-Second Amendment lawmakers in Texas are leaving in gun owners' stockings this year. Dozens of gun control bills pre-filed in advance of the 2021 legislative session are political payback to New York billionaire Michael Bloomberg, BETO "Hell Yeah, I'll Take Your Guns" O'Rourke, and radical leftists who want to ban firearms, defund police and make YOU less safe.

The soft point cutting edge bullet (SPCE) is essentially a modified semi-jacketed bullet that’s been designed to expand in a very controlled fashion. Unlike a standard soft-point or hollow point where the core is often bonded with the casing, this bullet doesn’t lock the lead core in completely. Some call it “water bottle” ammo, because the point of the bullet is vaguely designed similar to a pet hamster’s water bottle. The core isn’t bonded to the casing, allowing a different style of expansion and penetration. |
