"We, the general public, have yet to catch up with the reality of modern public violence. The professionals who study violence can now tell us what works to stop violence, but it is up to us to put their prescriptions into practice. Our government and church administrators will only respond once we tell them what to do. This is some of what we’ve learned." ...
"There are dozens of simple solutions that increase the likelihood of there being a good guy with a gun on the scene of the next attempted mass murder. Putting them into practice is only a matter of life and death." |

"The lame duck Congress has approved Dr. Vivek Murthy’s nomination to be Surgeon General of the United States. This despite the fact that Murthy co-founded the strictly partisan Doctors for Obama (now Doctors for America). And the fact that Dr. Murthy is as anti-gun as they come. After Newtown, he publicly supported a federal ban on 'assault weapons' and actively campaigned for the doomed federal universal background check bill. Most importantly, he considers 'gun violence' a 'public health issue.' This is a problem because . . ." ... |

"This isn’t pretty, and I can’t be nice about it. Students and staff were murdered in a public school. That is what happened in Sandy Hook Elementary School two years ago. It is time we were clear about what happened and why. An evil man was intent on killing innocent children. Let’s look at who is to blame and what we can do to protect our children. All this came up because of some bad propaganda in the press, but more about that later." ...

"A PBS 'Newshour' poll launched Sunday appears to be backfiring big time against the gun prohibition lobby – coincidentally on the heels of Saturday’s 'I will not comply' rally in Olympia – and news reports from Australia and Pennsylvania this morning may just have some bearing on it all."
"The poll asks readers if they would support more restrictions on guns on their states. As this was written, a whopping 95 percent-plus was saying “No.” Gun rights activists on various forums, including the popular Northwest Firearms forum, are already suggesting that this poll throws water on other surveys that show overwhelming support for additional gun laws, including so-called 'universal background checks.'" ... |

"Even before the Sydney siege reached its bloody conclusion, we predicted that Australian antis would find a way to use the attack as an anti-gun talking point. This despite the fact that anyone in their right mind wouldn’t want to be unarmed in a cafe when a shotgun-wielding jihadi strolled in on a suicide mission. And by 'right mind' I mean anyone who understands that the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. As happened here, eventually. As it always does – unless the bad guy tops himself (with a gun, usually). Anyone who 'gets' the simple fact that the sooner someone, anyone, eliminates a lethal threat. the safer everyone will be. ... Australian antis don’t see it that way . . ." ... |
