It’s available year-round and offers a temporary out-of-home storage option for firearm owners living in and outside Cincinnati. Anyone interested can store their firearms in CPD’s property room at 801 Linn St. for up to six months.
“As many of us are about to gather for Christmas, Hannakuh, Kwanzaa and the new year, this safe storage program allows responsible gun owners to store their firearms outside the home while loved ones gather around and ensure everyone’s safety,” Albi said.
The program is expected to particularly benefit individuals in crisis or at risk of suicide, those traveling and needing to secure their firearms, or those wanting to prevent access to a firearm when family and children are visiting, city leaders said. |

The Chicopee Police Department emphasizes the importance of parents having conversations with their children about the severe consequences of publicly playing or showing off their toy guns.
“Definitely should know is they should familiarize themselves with the four rules of gun safety. That way, even if they’re not going to be using a real firearm, the same rules apply,” Machowski said.
Even though these toy guns are not real, minors can still face serious charges for them, such as disturbing the peace while armed — which is a felony that can stay on their record. |

Ghost guns are untraceable, most often self-assembled and can be put together with the help of a 3D printing machine and metal parts bought online in a matter of a few hours. They don’t have serial numbers which can make them almost impossible to track and regulate.
The United States of America, where gun laws have been a hotly contentious and angrily debated issue for decades now, is now faced with a new dilemma. |

The as-applied challenge to a defendant’s conviction for being a felon-in-possession of a gun was properly dismissed by a district court, the Fourth Circuit said Wednesday.
In District of Columbia v. Heller, the US Supreme Court recognized the right of law-abiding citizens to own guns for self defense. Then, in Hamilton v. Pallozzi, the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit held that the felon-in-possession statute, under which convicted felons aren’t allowed to own guns, survived as-applied challenges, unless the felony conviction was pardoned or the law defining the crime of conviction was declared unlawful, Judge Toby ...

SF0037 has been introduced by Senator Ed Cooper. This legislation is an unacceptable attempt to undermine real efforts to Repeal Gun Free Zones in Wyoming!
In fact, Senator Cooper voted against GOA’s Senate effort to save the Repeal of Gun Free Zones in 2024 by a Recall Vote from Committee in the Senate (https://www.wyoleg.gov/Legislation/2024/HB0125).
The stated purpose of SF0037 is to provide “some” citizens an opportunity to carry concealed weapons in school zones. The bill gives the Wyoming Attorney General, an unelected position appointed by the Governor, the ability to determine special rules related to Wyoming citizens’ ability to exercise our Second Amendment Rights. |

24/7 Wall St. calculated the number of guns Americans have bought in each of the last 35 years using historical firearm production, import, and export data from the ATF. For every year between 1986 and 2020, we tallied the number of firearms manufactured in, and imported to, the U.S., and subtracted the number of firearms that were exported to foreign markets. Import data was not yet available for 2021 or 2022 at the time of this writing, and as a result, numbers for these years only reflect estimated domestic sales of American-made firearms. |

With a month remaining before history and the 2025 calendar sweep him out of office, President Joe Biden will leave the White House with his “legacy” in tatters; a testament to his career of bluster, dishonesty and gun control extremism made completely irrelevant by his pardon of his own son following convictions for gun crime violations.
Two new polls show Biden’s popularity at a low, and it could sink further following his reaction to the Abundant Life Christian School shooting in Madison, Wisconsin after which the president predictably called for actions by Congress which have no rational connection to the facts of the crime. |

When it comes to firearms, I am very much not an expert. If you are looking for that kind of advice, I recommend friends like John Snow, Tyler Freel, and Andrew McKean over at Outdoor Life. What I am is an average enthusiast who enjoys both recreational shooting and hunting, and who carries firearms for legitimate self defense needs involving both two- and four-legged predators, often in more dangerous circumstances than most other civilians. As I continue to learn more about the practical application of guns in real world situations, it’s my hope that you can benefit from the experience of someone like you. |

Media reactions varied significantly post-acquittal. A notable piece from The Nation criticized Penny’s actions by suggesting he might pose a future threat based on his notoriety. Critics argue this framing perpetuates harmful stereotypes rather than addressing the complexities surrounding mental health issues and public safety concerns.
The discourse surrounding this case highlights broader societal debates about race, violence, and personal responsibility in high-stress situations. Many see it as reflective of ongoing tensions within urban environments regarding how individuals respond to perceived threats. |

The company that ran President-elect Donald Trump’s polling operation has released a new poll showing widespread support for judges and politicians to prioritize gun rights.
The poll, conducted by McLaughlin and Associates and sponsored by the Second Amendment Foundation, was released on Tuesday. It found 77 percent of voters agree it’s “important” that federal judge appointments make it “a priority to try their best to strictly follow the 2nd Amendment.” Another 76 percent said it’s “important” for national political leaders to “protect and defend the 2nd Amendment Rights.” Fewer than 20 percent of respondents said neither was important to them. |

Far too often, an organization's entire body of work can get overshadowed.
Take National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA), for example.
NRA-ILA, established in 1975 and headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, is the lobbying arm of NRA and is "committed to preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes" as guaranteed by the Second Amendment. |

Gun Owners of America is proud to endorse Representative Hudson’s and Senator John Cornyn’s National Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. This legislation is not only a major priority for the Second Amendment community, but also President Trump, who ran on the issue by promising:
“[I] will protect the right of self-defense everywhere it is under siege. And I will sign concealed carry reciprocity. Your Second Amendment does not end at the state line.
“That is how I will bring back public safety to America. I want to thank you. We’re going to Make America Great Again and we’re going to Make America Safe Again.” |

The government can permanently disarm somebody convicted of non-violent felonies if their broader criminal history contains violent conduct, a federal appeals court has ruled.
On Monday, a three-judge panel for the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously rejected a Kentucky defendant’s as-applied challenge to his recent conviction for possessing a firearm as a felon. The panel ruled that even if a person is convicted of non-violent felonies, the totality of their criminal record can indicate “dangerousness” that permits disarmament under the Second Amendment. |

More than two years after the U.S. Supreme Court reaffirmed and expanded its interpretation of the Second Amendment, state and federal courts across the country have struck down multiple restrictive gun laws, while leaving others in a state of uncertainty, Stateline’s Matt Vasilogambros reported. The 2022 New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Bruen decision, which set a new standard requiring gun regulations to align with the nation’s historical traditions, has emboldened challenges to gun control laws, delivering key victories for Second Amendment supporters and raising questions about the future of gun control efforts. |

First of all, there is no such thing as a “ghost gun.” This is a made-up term by the anti-Second Amendment lobby used to create a negative stigma around homemade firearms, which have been a deeply rooted tradition throughout American history dating back to the founding. These firearms have never carried with them any requirement for serialization and have only been referred to as “ghost guns” in recent years by leftists looking to disarm law-abiding Americans.
The Michigan Senate, unconcerned with the Constitution or the rights of its citizens, approved Senate Bills 1149 and 1150 along party lines, 20-15, on December 12. |

The recent shooting death of a man at a Woodland Park City Market grocery store parking lot "appears likely to be a case of self-defense," according to a news release Tuesday from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
Luis Morales died in the Nov. 29 shooting. According to the CBI investigation and previous Gazette reporting, there was a physical altercation in the parking lot just off U.S. 24 during a child custody exchange between Morales and the boyfriend of the mother's child.
Witnesses said Morales, 28, threatened the mother's boyfriend with a knife. The boyfriend, 29, then pulled a gun and fired a single shot that hit Morales. |

The Second Amendment Foundation has just released the results of a national survey it commissioned, which reveals that a majority of American voters believe that incoming President Donald Trump and a Republican majority in Congress will better protect Second Amendment rights than Democrats.
The same poll, conducted by the internationally-recognized firm of McLaughlin & Associates beginning on Dec. 11, also says 76 percent of voters believe it is important to appoint judges to the federal courts who will “make it a priority to strictly follow the Second Amendment.” Only 15 percent say it is not important at all. |

Just in time for Christmas and Hanukkah and Kwanzaa and the winter solstice and New Year’s, Republicans and Democrats find themselves face-to-face with a problem they can actually solve together.
They can outlaw so-called “ghost guns” like the one used to kill a health care executive recently in New York City.
Imagine that. A genuine end-of-the-year opportunity to do something for the common good — something that transcends cultures and religions and politics. |

Welcome to the Guns of the Decades. In this article series, we’ll pick a firearm from a decade, and briefly talk about where it was at the time. It’s not meant to be an all-encompassing detailed record of the firearm or a claim that it was the best firearm of the decade. It's a fun read about a gun that you may have forgotten about or one that may have been lost in time.
In this week’s article, the decade is the 1960s, and the firearm is the Colt 607. The 607 is an incredibly rare firearm. It was Colt’s first attempt at the carbine. The complete history is too much for me to summarize in this blog post, but we can discuss and reflect. |

Now, millions of gun owners remain in legal jeopardy under Biden’s policies, while Hunter walks free with his criminal record wiped clean. This blatant double standard is a slap in the face to the American people and a betrayal of whatever trust they may have still had in his leadership.
Unsurprisingly, Biden attempted to rationalize his decision by pointing fingers at the prosecution, saying it was “unfair and selective.” Regardless of his reasons, every American now facing legal prosecution due to unconstitutional firearm policies deserves the same treatment as Hunter. |
