... "And there are other groups that happily accept 'cooking the books' because doing so fits in with an agenda they support: the media and the gun-grabbers. That way Michael Bloomberg’s 'Everytown' can claim 90 percent of the public and most NRA members support registration and confiscation-enabling 'background checks,' when results on a recent Washington State ballot measure show it took a relentless, billionaire-backed media campaign to get the measure to pass with under 60 percent of a perennial blue state’s vote." ...

"'When you drop your kid off at a friend’s house, you often ask the friend’s parent a million questions: Is your family dog-friendly? How do you monitor Internet usage? Is the backyard pool properly fenced in? It helps to think about gun safety as you would any of these other household risks. Add 'Is there an unlocked gun in your house?' to your standard list of inquiries.' That’s the advice provided by Hayley Fox at takepart.com. "'While rioting by a very small percentage of protestors does a disservice to the memory of Michael Brown and the cause of saving black lives or preventing future Fergusons . . .” Yeah, right. A small percentage of the 'protestors' rioted in Ferguson, setting more than 25 buildings ablaze and looting an equal number of stores. In fact, more than 100 cars idled in front of Toys R Us on the night of the non-indictment, waiting for someone to cast the first brick. Ferguson’s destruction was about rioting like surfing for pictures of Barbara Palvin is about researching Hungarian history. Anyway, huffingtonpost.com writer H. A. "Pointing to the killing of Michael Brown by police officer Darren Wilson along with subsequent unrest in Ferguson and policing issues, the dictator-dominated [UN] just launched another brazen assault on America, U.S. sovereignty, and the gun rights of Americans. UN boss Ban Ki-moon (shown), the global body’s 'Human Rights Council,' and even the UN 'Committee against Torture' all took turns lambasting the United States as an alleged stronghold of systemic racism and police brutality. To fix the problems, the UN argued, Americans and their elected officials must submit to the demands of self-styled global 'authorities' — including more unconstitutional gun control to further restrict access to firearms, and UN rules for police." ...

When Optimus Defense asked TTAG to review their 80%, he passed the request on to me since I have both some experience with finishing them and the tools to do so (as well as a very understanding wife that doesn’t get too mad at me when I track aluminum shavings through the house). I’ve been a firearms enthusiast for decades now, and served 14 years in the US Army and have also been a TCLEOSE certified peace officer. "To paraphrase Winston Zeddemore from Ghostbusters… 'If someone asks you if you want to test their Smith & Wesson Performance Center 460XVR… you say yes!' Accordingly, I got the chance to borrow Smith’s megarevolver and take it out for a spin. Spin as in, it spun my wrist back a full 90 degrees every time I fired it. Now, I know that looks like it hurts, but … surprisingly, it didn’t. I fired round after round of .460 S&W and .454 Casull from the XVR, and the rubber grips really helped absorb the shock. It still terrified me though. Sheesh, that thing packs a punch. I mean… okay, so, generally, if you’re shooting a big-bore powerful handgun . . ." ...
