Three area trap shooters were recently notified of their selection for both national and New York-level recognition. The Amateur Trap Association (ATA) has announced the All-American team for 2016, which includes Bonnie Cobado of West Clarksville, Mike Manzo of Olean and Briana Collins of Richburg.

A dispute over a cab fare Monday night in Deltona escalated when the customer pulled out a gun, prompting a responding Volusia County sheriff's deputy to fire on the armed man, Volusia County Sheriff Ben Johnson confirmed to FOX 35. The man was shot multiple times and airlifted by a Sheriff's Office helicopter to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, where he was undergoing surgery.

On a recent afternoon Dr. Mohammad Shuayb, a Tampa-area dentist, brought a pistol to work with him for the first time.

Early that morning, his assistant had called him with a piece of ominous news: a woman called the office over the weekend and left an expletive-ridden rant decrying the doctor as a Muslim and claiming he was a supporter of ISIS. She called back and hung up several times after leaving the message.

As a lawyer, I have the deepest respect for the Second Amendment and an individual's right to bear arms. But as I parent, I feel strongly about my right to keep my children out of situations where firearms are present. I wouldve preferred to watch Fargo, a pitch-black comedy about bloodlusting knuckleheads, but instead I dutifully tuned in the Republicans, and I got the same kind of characters. Macedonia police asked Facebook users to decipher a fake gun from a real one to raise awareness of the dangers of toy guns, WKYC reported. Officers recovered a fake gun from a juvenile, posted a photo of it next to an officer's firearm and asked users if they could make a split-second of which one was real.

Buying a handgun is a very personal decision and there is no single "right gun" for women. Having said that, a lot of women get pushed toward the wrong gun by salesmen or others who wrongfully stereotype women as not being able to operate the slide on a semi-automatic and who have bought into the "all women should have a revolver" myth.
