Just before the turn of the 19th century, the 6.5x57mm Mauser was introduced to be fired from rifles built with the M88 action. Despite this, no military ever adopted the cartridge, yet European and American civilian hunters have used the 6.5x57mm with great effect on medium-sized game.
Many shooters compare the performance of this cartridge to that of the 6.5mm Swedish. As a result, the 6.5x57 is one of the most prevalent for hunting deer in Germany – where hunting laws, locally the Bundesjagdgesetz, state that deer-hunting cartridges must deliver a minimum of 1,356 foot pounds of energy at 100 yards, and the minimum bullet diameter for certain deer is 6.5mm with the same energy requirements.

Gun rights organizations are reportedly “pouring millions of dollars in outside spending” as the Jan. 5 special runoff election for two U.S. Senate seats in Georgia are up for grabs, according to CNBC.
The election is critical to determine which party will control the U.S. Senate. If Republicans can retain a thin majority, they can serve as a barrier to Joe Biden’s gun control plan. If Democrats capture those seats, it results in a 50-50 split that will always be decided in the Democrats’’ favor by Kamala Harris, who will serve as president of the Senate.

It’s an unusual means of investment, but one that we think will appeal to our readers on a deep level: collectible weapons.
There are a number of advantages to investing in collectible weapons that will appeal both to those who love weapons and those who keep an eye on their money. Indeed, this is a popular investment category for people who like something a little more durable than stocks, bonds and cryptocurrency. They can also provide protection during uncertain times.

Mrs. America actress, Charlie’s Angels director, and CBS game show host Elizabeth Banks went on a Twitter tirade proclaiming “Stand Your Ground” laws are “BS,” and suggested they create an environment which “helps nobody but people who want justified reasons to use a deadly weapon.”
“Stand Your Ground is BS. We used to play hide and seek all over the neighborhood on summer nights. Intent was to play. We were kids but some of my cousins were big guys,” Elizabeth Banks wrote on Twitter to her 2.2 million followers. The Pitch Perfect director was responding to the Ohio state House’s passage of “Stand Your Ground” legislation last week.

At least five of President-elect Joe Biden’s reported cabinet picks have expressed pro-gun control views in past statements, a Daily Caller News Foundation review has found. Biden, who is set to be inaugurated on Jan. 20, has said he plans to end the sale of so-called “assault weapons” and “high-capacity magazines” in addition to instituting red flag legislation and ending liability protections for gun manufacturers and sellers, according to his campaign website. The former vice president’s gun control plan, coupled with his slew of cabinet picks that seem to share his views on the issue, has pro-Second Amendment groups on edge.

They are the strongest opponents of defunding the police, but now, conservatives are carving out an exception — the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Long considered anti-gun, the agency has provoked alarm with Second Amendment advocates due to the agency’s recent targeting of gunmakers, including a raid this month on a producer of so-called "ghost guns" and this week’s targeting of AR-15-style pistols.

Our opponents never rest! They will keep coming up with ways to restrict your right to keep and bear arms in the Lone Star State. So NRA-ILA will continue counting down the legislative lumps of coal that anti-Second Amendment lawmakers in Texas are leaving in gun owners' stockings this year. Because we can't let up for a minute. The 2021 Texas legislative session is less than a month away. Please support NRA-ILA as we work with gun owners to STAND YOUR GROUND on your Second Amendment rights at the Capitol in Austin next year!

All across the country, millions of Americans are on the hunt for ammunition, either for self-defense, target practice, shooting sports or hunting. Sporting goods stores and small mom and pop businesses have had to severely limit how many rounds of ammo a person can buy at one time. Some have even went so far as to limit ammo solely to those who are purchasing a new firearm because of the shortage. |

The inception of what we now consider sniping developed more than 100 years ago on the killing grounds of the Dardanelles (Gallipoli campaign) and the trenches of the Western Front. It was the dawning of the commonplace use of telescopically-sighted rifles in combat, though a few had been used to good effect on both sides in the American Civil War 50 years before. |
