Among his concerns: Gun owners can lose their weapons if they have temporary restraining orders imposed on them by the courts in domestic violence cases -- even if they're not convicted."

NRA management gets its wish to "enforce existing gun laws" and protests when it a law they endorsed is applied in a way they didn't foresee.
Note how their attorney characterizes innocent gun owners who haven't been convicted as "dogs" and legitimizes gun registration.
This is the same DOJ that NRA reps have lauded to their members because of the good relationship they share. |

HANCOCK, MD DECEMBER 27 - Gun store owners in Maryland are worried that a new law, designed to increase hand gun safety, will decrease hand gun sales. A law kicks in on the first of the New Year, requiring all newly manufactured handguns to have internal locks, which can keep them from being fired. Otherwise, they are not allowed to be sold in Maryland.
It is part of the "The Responsible Gun Safety Act," signed by Governor Glendening back in 2000. One gun shop owner said the law rules out about 95 percent of his current stock. He said many suppliers will cut Maryland gun sellers off because they do not want to meet the new safety requirements.
"Within the next year to two, it will definitely hurt our business," stated Lance Hendershot, a gun shop owner.
There is one out for gun sellers; they can install the required locks on the guns they already have in stock.
