A controversy in Nashville concerning whether gun shows should be allowed at a specific fairground doesn’t seem to be carrying over to Blount County. There are no local fairgrounds here for one thing. For another, the cities of Alcoa and Maryville allow gun shows as long as the organizers jump through the normal legal hoops. |

Only Nixon could go to China, according to one of the more enduring political truths of the last half-century.
Just as only a man of color with undeniable credibility in the black community can publicly utter an undeniable truth -- it's not only police who are killing black people in this country, though you'd never know it from much of the media coverage. - See more at: http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/jack-coleman/2015/12/27/welcome-candor-director-spike-lee-its-not-always-policemen-shooting#sthash.37bm1MGE.dpuf

A friend of mine is a new mom. She wants to carry a gun for protection. She isn’t alone. Many gun owners also want to carry after the recent attacks in southern California. That decision is really a matter of time.
There were dozens of murders and thousands of violent crimes in the LA area last month. It takes police minutes to respond. She can protect herself in seconds.
Thousands of California gun owners will disobey an unjust law in order to keep themselves safe. I don’t blame them. I don't blame her.

There are probably as many favorite guns among firearms enthusiasts as there are models manufactured. One way to determine what the "best" gun is is to see what people are buying. But that's not a straightforward endeavor.
Since Smith & Wesson Holding (NASDAQ:SWHC) and Sturm, Ruger (NYSE:RGR) are the only publicly traded gunsmiths, we're able to gain some insights into their sales, but mostly of broad categories rather than specific models. |

Earlier this week I wrote about a group of 15 Republican congressmen co-signing an amicus brief in support of the creator of the 3D printed LIberator handgun, Cody Wilson, and his lawsuit against the State Department. After publishing the 3D printing files for his one-shot handgun online, Wilson was ordered to remove them by the State Department because according to them he was violating an act that regulated the distribution of weapons and information to international sources. |

Remember Riley Curry? Fans and non-fans alike may recall when her dad, Stephen Curry, and the Golden State Warriors were en route to the NBA title earlier this year, and there was the then-2-year-old Riley, the girl who won the hearts of many when she stole the show at her dad’s post-game press conferences. She was yawning, waving to reporters and telling her dad to “be quiet.”
