The president also announced on Thursday the expansion of a federal program that helps U.S. cities crack down on illegal gun trafficking by tracking down the source of guns used in crimes. The weapon is thought to be a BB gun or pellet gun.

"After thinking about it for years, I finally broke down and bought my first muzzleloader rifle."

"The reason I held out so long was that I found all the options, and the vast aray of equipment necessary just to get started, more than a little intimidating."

"But the prospect of getting up to seven more days of deer hunting opportunities was enough to finally convince me to make the jump into the world of muzzleloading."

"Being a naked felon with a gun is a no-no."

"A grand jury has indicted a convicted felon for violating her parole conditions by posing for photos that showed her holding firearms while nude or partially clothed."

"Photos of Katica Crippen, 32, appeared on porn Web sites, the sheriff's department said."

"She was forbidden from possessing weapons in terms of her parole."
How police found out about the pictures is a mystery, but it seems like an informant told on her.

Federal agents are more likely to come across gun-toting kids in Chicago than in most other major cities when they investigate the ownership of firearms used in crimes.

About 15 percent of the gun traces in Chicago last year involved juveniles 17 and younger, according to a report released Thursday by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol and Tobacco. The national average was 9 percent.

"Chicago has four of the five largest street gangs in the nation here," ATF spokesman Tom Ahern said.

"A DEMOCRAT state lawmaker wants the Texas Constitution to protect hunters and fishers."

"State Rep. Barry Telford, a Democrat from DeKalb in northeast Texas and chairman of the House Calendars Committee, is seeking a constitutional amendment ensuring the right to hunt and fish "in accordance with the laws of this state." Other states recently have passed similar amendments."

"Telford said the amendment would guard hunters' rights from disapproving activists."

A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government. George Washington
