000 buckshot, also known as triple aught buck, has one of the largest diameter pellet sizes found on the market today, making it great for both hunting and personal defense. When it comes to buckshot size, there are typically eight pellets with a diameter of .36 inches in a 000 buck round, depending on the shell size and manufacturer. As for 000 buckshot vs. 00, the size difference is about 0.03 inches, but the weight of an individual pellet can be as much as 30 percent more with the 000 buck – resulting in more energy per pellet and deeper penetration.

Sometimes the urge to break away from the norm is overwhelming. We want something different — something capable of bringing out the green-eyed monster in our friends with its wow factor, while at the same time, putting a contented smile on our face. Sure, we all have working guns, guns we’ve carried for years and have special meaning to us. But deep down, we want one special gun … shouldn’t everyone have one?

What’s the most fun thing you’ve ever done? Might want to keep it to yourself just in case there are sensitive ears about. One of my hands-down coolest experiences was running belt-fed machineguns out of a helicopter.

Overshadowed by the forthcoming National Basketball Association season, and the irregular start to NCAA hoops, the climax of a forgettable college football season framed by the convoluted ambiguity and morbidity of Covid-19, prompts the proud contemporary custodians of history eagerly awaiting the stamping of a concise asterisk next to 2020.

The AR platform is adaptable to a wide range of calibers and firearms styles. One of the most-recognizable characteristics of the AR is its rear buffer tube, which houses the buffer spring assembly in many versions of the AR. Now CMMG is introducing their shortest and most compact Banshee line of firearms to date. This new line-up of guns is chambered in .22 LR and features a capped lower receiver that has no buffer tube or receiver extension.

Now is the time for many to consider what their resolutions are for the new year. Second Amendment supporters should be no different – and their first resolution is really a no-brainer: Re-elect David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler to the United States Senate.

Missouri-based CMMG this month announced what is billed as the company's shortest and most compact Banshee model ever, the .22LR End Cap. Chambered in the popular rimfire staple, the new blow-back action Banshee deletes the buffer tube and receiver extension common on AR-type pistols and replaces it instead with a capped lower receiver. This produces a smaller format gun than most .22LR AR15 builds on the market – as short as 14.7 inches in the 4.5-inch barrel model. CMMG says the .22LR End Cap is compatible with all of the company's .22LR AR Conversion Kits, as well as any AR15 that uses a dedicated CMMG .22LR bolt carrier group and barrel.

On a cold December night, Sam Schultz was deep in the Ozarks, waiting for the elk to come. Schultz had been planning the trip for months, one of just five hunters to win a tag to hunt elk in Missouri this year. He broke his hand last time he hunted the giants. He had nine days this time. But the dense woods had not, so far, given him the shot he wanted.

Just before midnight my hunting buddy Craig texted me about a little known public-land area that could be promising for new coveys of quail. Craig is sure enough a bird dog man, and has hunted everything from grouse in Utah to ducks in Arkansas to wild bobwhite quail here in Georgia. So when he texts you about a new hunting spot, you pay attention. We arrived 10 days later, dogs in tow.

State Representative Anthony Sabatini tried to allow guns on college campuses in the last legislative session. And like other conservative lawmakers who have tried that for years, he failed.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
"Some people think that the Second Amendment is an outdated relic of an earlier time. Doubtless some also think that constitutional protections of other rights are outdated relics of earlier times. We The People own those rights regardless, unless and until We The People repeal them. For those who believe it to be outdated, the Second Amendment provides a good test of whether their allegiance is really to the Constitution of the United States, or only to their preferences in public policies and audiences. The Constitution is law, not vague aspirations, and we are obligated to protect, defend, and apply it. If the Second Amendment were truly an outdated relic, the Constitution provides a method for repeal. The Constitution does not furnish the federal courts with an eraser." --9th Circuit Court Judge Andrew Kleinfeld, dissenting opinion in which the court refused to rehear the case while citing deeply flawed anti-Second Amendment nonsense (Nordyke v. King; opinion filed April 5, 2004)
