As promised days ago, the National Shooting Sports Foundation has entered the legal fray in Oregon, filing a federal lawsuit supported by the National Rifle Association in U.S. District Court in Portland against Measure 114, the gun control initiative narrowly approved by voters last month. |

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) recently set turkey and deer hunting dates for the 2023-2024 seasons along with regulation changes for the 2023-2024 deer-hunting season. The regulation changes include a new firearms early antlerless portion, a new firearms CWD portion, and changes to firearms antlerless permit numbers in most counties. The hunting dates and regulation changes were approved by the Missouri Conservation Commission at its Dec. 2 open meeting in Jefferson City |

Saturday marks the start of shotgun deer hunting season in Iowa, KCCI reports. Iowa DNR officials say more than 100,000 deer will be harvested this year. Officials are reminding hunters to make sure they are safe in the woods. A total of 459 firearms were collected during two Los Angeles Police Department events allowing people to exchange the weapons for gift cards. Both events were conducted between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday with one at Exposition Park, 2986 Hoover St., and the other at the Valley Traffic Division, at 7870 Nolan Place in Panorama City, LAPD Officer Matthew Cruz told City News Service.

The next segment of West Virginia’s antlerless deer firearms season will be open Dec. 8–11 in the state’s 51 counties open to deer firearms season. With a change in polarity in the lower chamber of Congress next year, federal gun regulators are already getting letters from Republicans over gun control issues. U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan, an Ohio Republican set to move into the chair position of the House Judiciary Committee when the new Congress is seated next January, fired off a frank letter this week to Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Director Steve Dettelbach letting him know that changes will be likely. |
