On Sept. 28 in Arlington, Texas, a car dealership erupted into chaos when a former employee allegedly began firing a rifle in the new-car area, making his way to the service area. One current employee told reporters, “I heard one of my friends say, ‘Hey, he has a gun.’ I look up and look him right in the face and he has a blank, very calm face.” Another current employee drew his own firearm and returned fire, stopping the attack and causing the assailant to retreat to the parking lot. |

Admittedly, some of us are ammo optimists. We really want to enjoy ammunition from various manufacturers. Unfortunately, Zinc Point ammo defeats our optimism, as you’ll soon find out in this review. The saying, “You get what you pay for,” doesn’t apply to all ammunition. There are some great high-quality cartridges with incredibly low price tags. Zinc Point ammo definitely fits the low-cost box. But it doesn’t have great reviews or a very pleasant reputation.

No matter what the cool kids on the internet are saying, I believe size does matter in carry-gun cartridges. Even considering the “magic bullets” and the testing done by the FBI, the laws of physics say it is so. When Taurus came out with its new TH45, I was delighted to see continuing support for the battle-proven .45 ACP. Call me a Fudd, I don’t care; we Boomers have a lot of real-world experience, and I still like my carry guns to start with the number four.

Since I first handled the Streamlight TL Racker shotgun tactical light, I’ve been convinced it is the best on the market for short-barreled shotguns. The molded hand stop is virtually foolproof, which is exactly what I want when my fingers are just a couple of inches behind the muzzle. I also love the ambidextrous, full-length light activation panels, the awesome light output (1,000 lumens) and range (283 meters), the IPX7 waterproof rating and the high-quality construction. It’s a heck of a lot of product for $125. |

The current population of grizzly bears in the lower 48 states has grown to about 2,000 bears from the low of about 700 to 800 bears estimated in 1975. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
In the end, more than freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all — security, comfort, and freedom. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for most was freedom from responsibility then Athens ceased to be free and was never free again. — EDWARD GIBBON [On ancient Athens] |
