A Kimber representative wanted to tell me about their new handgun, but he said I’d need to sign a non-disclosure agreement so I wouldn’t spill the top-secret news before Kimber was ready. Once I’d signed, he said something like: “Now for the big news!” and told me Kimber planned to release—get this—a micro-compact, polymer-framed, double-stack 9 mm carry gun. If you’re wondering what the big deal is, well, so was I. |

In the past year, Taurus USA kept pace with market demands by adapting milled slide cuts for today's popular red-dot optics, as well as offering an affordable, compact, capacity-rich concealed-carry option in its GX4 pistol. Now, Taurus is blending these two hot products in its all-new GX4 T.O.R.O., which provides a slide cut compatible with many of today's micro red-dot sights. |

For several reasons, the 357 SIG vs 9mm debate is not often thought of, even though the 357 SIG has some of the most devout supporters in the shooting community.
Designed to replicate the ballistics of the venerable 357 Magnum, the 357 SIG has a small following inside the law enforcement community and government agencies such as the United States Secret Service (USSS) and the Texas Department of Public Safety (TDPS, a.k.a. the Texas Rangers). |

Michigan’s Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said Friday if the school had included resource officers in meetings with parents over concerns of violence, his office would have taken action to be sure the alleged Oxford High School shooter had no access to guns.
KPTV reports that Oxford school superintendent Tim Throne made clear that the school had not reached the point of actually disciplining the shooter prior to his attack. |

Many outdoors enthusiasts are turning their thoughts to ice fishing, but several hunting opportunities remain in Minnesota, the Department of Natural Resources said this week in a reminder. Hunting pheasants, ruffed grouse, squirrels or rabbits offers opportunities to enjoy the Minnesota outdoors as temperatures fall and snow blankets the landscape, the DNR said. |

Firearms manufacturers are not able to sell their guns and ammo on the state’s Shop Wyoming website — and a Cody lawmaker wants the attorney general to take action against what she sees as illegal discrimination. Last month, Rep. Rachel Rodriguez-Williams, R-Cody, asked Attorney General Bridget Hill to use a new law to sue the Wyoming Small Business Development Center Network, which operates the online marketplace. |

Ohio hunters nearly doubled last year’s first-day take during the statewide gun week by registering 21,754 whitetails Monday. That topped last year’s opening-day count of 10,905 by 10,849, an increase of 99.5 percent. The 2020 numbers on a weather-plagued day were the most meager in decades, making for a rather low bar to overcome this time around. However, last week’s opening-day numbers also easily bested the three-year average of 13,349. |

On December 2, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) attempted and failed to pass H.R. 8, the dangerously flawed, so-called “universal” background check bill. As you may recall, Nancy Pelosi and her anti-gun allies in the U.S. House passed this misguided legislation earlier this year. H.R. 8 would do nothing to prevent crime, could not be enforced without a federal gun registry, and would turn otherwise law-abiding citizens into criminals for simply loaning a firearm to friends or family members.

This question is not asked to ruffle feathers or even attempt to say a $200 GForce shotgun can be truly comparable to a $2,000 Benelli M4. Rather, it is meant to address the questions often asked by people who are new to shotguns:
How can a shotgun cost $2,000? What does $200 get you? What's the difference? |

The Nevada Supreme Court ruled Thursday that gunmakers are not responsible for the 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas because the companies have immunity, citing a state law shielding manufacturers from liability. The court unanimously decided in favor of Colt Manufacturing Co., Sportsman's Warehouse and other gun manufacturers in a 2019 lawsuit brought by the parents of one woman killed in the Las Vegas shooting, according to a local NBC station. |

Anti-gun Democrat Governor Tom Wolf kept his promise and vetoed Senate Bill 565 on Thursday. The bill would have ensured that citizens are able to exercise their right to self-defense without government red tape or delays. It would not have affected previously issued carry permits and would have allowed citizens who still wish to obtain a permit in order to carry in other states recognizing Pennsylvania permits, to do so. Twenty-one states currently have permitless carry.

The St. Louis Zoo appears to have succeeded in officially becoming a “gun-free zone,” but its yearslong legal fight with a gun rights activist isn’t yet over. The St. Louis Zoo is pursuing a portion of the estimated $150,000 in attorneys fees billed to taxpayers spent defending the zoo’s gun ban in court. A lawyer for Jeffry Smith of suburban Cincinnati, Ohio, who challenged the firearms ban is criticizing the push for fees. |

Tristen’s first firearm was an affordable Taurus G2C that offered a budget-friendly carry companion chambered in 9mm. However, and like so many gun owners before him, he has since moved on to invest in a new carry gun that also pulled on the purse strings a bit further – the Sig Sauer P365. The main reason for the upgrade was added reliability and reduced size. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
You are bound to meet misfortune if you are unarmed because, among other reasons, people despise you....There is simply no comparison between a man who is armed and one who is not. It is unreasonable to expect that an armed man should obey one who is unarmed, or that an unarmed man should remain safe and secure when his servants are armed. In the latter case, there will be suspicion on the one hand and contempt on the other, making cooperation impossible. — Niccolo Machiavelli in "The Prince." |
