Mother Jones just published an article about the troubles plaguing the National Rifle Association in which it suggested several other, far more “extreme” organizations might move in to fill any void, and among those radical outfits it listed the Second Amendment Foundation.
That’s the group currently blazing a legal trail through a maze of offensive gun control laws that have done nothing but erode the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens. SAF, based in Bellevue, Wash., is not a lobbying organization. Its specialties are education and litigation, and in the latter arena, it’s been casting an increasingly long shadow. |

During the December 6, 2020, Georgia Senate debate, Kelly Loeffler (R) noted that Democrats want to take some guns and tax others, and she suggested Raphael Warnock (D) is their “agent of change” to accomplish these things.
Loeffler talked about the important role the Republican-controlled U.S. Senate plays as a “shock absorber,” absorbing and stopping the gun control legislation that comes out of the Democrat-controlled House. |

Recently The Washington Post published an article depicting the rampant organized crime crisis in Mexico. There is no question that the crime and violence fueled by drug cartels in our southern neighbor are major problems for Mexico, the United States, and for the global community. However, the authors make a mistake typical of the gun control crowd; they blame the firearm rights enshrined in the U.S. Constitution for the problems in Mexico. |

The first Smith & Wesson Model 48 came out of the factory in 1959 chambered in .22 WMR—a rimfire with added punch that Winchester introduced earlier that year. It didn’t take long for enthusiasts to discover the guns performance, and its popularity continues to this day. Last year, it made the top-10 list of revolvers sold among retailers using the services of GunBroker.com. |

Obviously, there’s a big ammunition shortage at the moment. You can’t find any in stores, at least for long. What you can find online is in short supply and typically marked up significantly. It isn’t the first one. The same thing happened during the Obama administration. Everyone was afraid there was going to be a gun ban and so everyone made a run on AR-15s and ammo.

The usual opponents are standing their ground on the issue. |

Raphael Warnock is clearly an enemy of law-abiding Americans who wish to exercise their Second Amendment rights. That much is clear. Just how bad he is, though, would shock many Second Amendment supporters. The Washington Free Beacon went into detail on his history of anti-Second Amendment extremism, and some of it defies common sense. Other parts of the agenda, though, are flat-out injustices, and a few even place law-abiding citizens in greater danger. |

“Have your musket clean as a whistle, hatchet scoured, 60 rounds powder and ball and be ready to march at a minute’s warning.” That sage advice from MAJ Robert Rogers is found on page one of the “U.S. Army Ranger Handbook” I was issued in 1988. Because I had already learned Rogers’ “Rules for Ranging” from an older copy of the manual as a youngster, my perceptions of readiness were set long before I began my own Ranger journey.

Deer season in West Virginia is a special time of year for most hunters, with the highlight being the two-week buck firearm season. The week of Thanksgiving, when friends and family gather to celebrate the culture and heritage of buck season, is a time-honored tradition. But that week is not the only week of the season and there are many great deer hunting opportunities left, including antlerless hunting, bow hunting and, my personal favorite, muzzleloader season.
