Today they are most often known as pocket revolvers or sometimes snub-guns. However, several eons ago in the pre-politically correct days when I was a teenager, they were known as belly guns. This has several meanings such as “easy-to-conceal,” “for use at very close distances” and even “shot from the hip or at ‘belly’ level.” For our purposes here we will define BBBG (Big Bore Belly Gun) as a single- or double-action sixgun with a barrel shorter than 4″ and chambered in a cartridge more powerful, and with a larger bullet diameter, than the age-old .38 Special.

The .50 Action Express cartridge is, without a doubt, one of the world’s most powerful pistol cartridges. It features a .500-inch bullet diameter (33mm) in a 1.285-inch straight-walled case that has a rebated rim. The overall length of the standard .50 AE round measures 1.610 inches, and the ammo is powered with a large pistol primer. According to the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute (SAAMI), the maximum pressure of .50 AE ammo should not exceed 36,000 pounds per square inch (psi). |

To counteract the insufferable clothing tribute to tyrant and murderer Che Guevara and the despicable silhouette of one of the most infuriatingly revered prolific butchers of the 20th century, applying for the glorified daycare environment of the modern nightmarish college experience is not a requirement. Both sides play at the adult game of propaganda, even through rhetoric does not equate to indoctrination if the underlying goal is to campaign for freedom, while donning the latest and greatest fashions inspired by Orwell, Rand, the founding fathers, and the Constitution. The First Amendment is way too valuable to waste. |

For many Americans, the last 24 months or so have likely comprised the most difficult span of time they’ve ever faced. Our nation was pummeled by a pandemic, economic downturn, and political and social upheaval.Yet when the history of 2020-2021 is written, the most shocking and infuriating aspect should be that federal and state laws prevented Americans from protecting themselves against the violent riots that erupted around the country.

Kyle Rittenhouse’s recent acquittal was a big relief to many. His right to self-defense was upheld in court. But was it upheld in any other sense? Rittenhouse endured a 15-month nightmare. Even though he is now a free man, he faces an uphill battle to rebuild his life. Already some of his classmates at Arizona State University, where he is enrolled online, are trying to get him expelled. No person in their right mind would want to suffer the same ordeal as Rittenhouse. This has implications for the way Americans exercise our right to self-defense going forward.

The dirk knife traces its origins to several hundred years ago when Scottish natives used these knives for combat instead of more expensive swords. Modern dirk knives still work for combat and self-defense, but the modern design has a much shorter blade than the original.

A sad fact about gun control politics is that if you are cynical enough you can darn near see the future. Consider this NRA-ILA item from November 8, titled, “NBC News Tattletale Alerts Secret Service to “Let’s go Brandon” AR-15 Receiver.” The piece concerned an NBC News reporter who contacted the U.S. Secret Service over the sale of an AR-15 lower receiver emblazoned with the popular “Let’s go Brandon” political slogan. NRA-ILA explained in the article. |

Brownells joins other well-known firearms industry companies such as Daniel Defense and Silencer Shop to stand with the Firearms Policy Coalition in defense and support of constitutionally-guaranteed Second Amendment rights for all Americans. Founded in 2015, the FPC’s main mission is to protect and defend constitutional rights—especially the right to keep and bear arms— often by filing lawsuits against egregious anti-gun-rights laws and regulations.

What happens when politicians get it really wrong?
About one in a dozen of us carry in public now. That isn’t true in New York State where ordinary people are denied the right to carry personal firearms in public. Also consider that New York has arrested people who tried to pass through the state with a firearm.
Now the case in front of the US Supreme Court takes on a different character. Should visitors be required to apply for a permit the state won't give them? |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
Besides the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation, the existence of subordinate governments, to which the people are attached, and by which the militia officers are appointed, forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of. Notwithstanding the military establishments in the several kingdoms of Europe, which are carried as far as the public resources will bear, the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. — James Madison, The Federalist Papers, No. 46 |
