... "The Bush Administration does not want convicted felons to to lawfully own firearms. What if the convicted felon's only crime was the civil disobedience of an anti-Constitutional, anti-gun law?"
"There are thousands of anti-gun laws on the books, many of which have no relevance or influence on criminal behavior. Some of which are considered a felony if violated. The laws vary depending on your geographic location and there are laws at the city, county, state, and federal level, making it confusing for gun owners and law enforcement in some areas." ... -------

"Well, I normally wouldn't bust out this big of a story without a press release and a great deal of fanfare, but I was recently able to sit down with Paul Helmke and discuss what truly constitutes an 'assault weapon.' Following is a nearly complete transcript of our conversation:"
"HELMKE: *holding a spork against a copy of the Constitution* So, it is down to you. And it is down to me."
"LIBERTY: Let me explain-"
"HELMKE: — there’s nothing to explain. You're trying to reclaim what I’ve rightfully hijacked."
"LIBERTY: Perhaps an arrangement can be reached?"
"HELMKE: There will be no arrangement — *presses the spork against the 2nd Amendment* — and you’re destroying this …" ... |

"Michael J. Sullivan keeps floating to the surface as one, who from all indications, is bound and determined to decrease the guns available to us, to establish an illegal database of gun owners, and now to fraternize with those organizations which clearly oppose our Second Amendment right. The latest example was brought to my attention by Ryan Horsley of Red’s Trading Post in a post where Sullivan is speaking to the IACP (International Associations of Chiefs of Police), served on a panel with noted anti-Second Amendment types, and has associated with the who-who’s of the anti-Second Amendment zealots." ... |

"I'll tell you right up front that until recently I was never a big fan of Remington's Model Seven rifle. That skinny barrel combined with an action that handled only short cartridges was never my cup of tea. And the stock? Removed from the rifle it might make a perfect bat for a good game of stickball. The only handsome Model Seven to come out of the plant in New York was that spiffy Mannlicher addition brought on line around 1993."
"Nevertheless, over the past two years, the Model Seven ... has changed dramatically and made me its No. 1 fan. The stock is classic in design, the barrel is perfect for the host cartridge ... the new addition in .17 Remington Fireball is certainly going to find a place in my Suburban for serious woodchuck hunting." ... |

"Why? Because the number of hunters is falling in the Mountaineer State."

Medics and police arrived, and the man was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

State Representative Bruce Goodwin (R-74) has introduced legislation that would restore gun rights to members of the armed services or the Ohio National Guard who are between the ages of 18 and 21.
The bill would allow these servicemen and women to purchase a handgun if the person has received firearms training.
Under current state law, even the young men and women who are asked to fight and die for their country are subject to a gun control law which has failed to achieve its goal of reducing crime committed by young offenders.

TO REMEMBER |
Today the taxing power, rather than chattel slavery, is the instrument by which the parasitical element of the population subsists. And that element, which includes politicians, panics at the slightest reduction in the state's power to plunder. Once you start liberating taxpayers, even a little tiny bit, nobody knows where it may end. —Joseph Sobran |
