Don't tell retired cardiologist Jeffrey Fowler that it's too dangerous for blind people to carry concealed weapons. The 59-year-old, blinded as a young adult by a genetic disease, shot a perfect score on his test for the concealed-carry permit. "People are too quick to judge what disabled people can or can't do," he said. "And I have a God-given and constitutional right to protect myself."

The new Boulder City ordinance requires gun owners to use carrying cases when transporting firearms in public. Gun owners must use a carrying case that is clearly labeled if it is not obviously shaped like a gun. But gun owners have made the point that they favor plain and unlabeled cases so their weapons do not become the targets of thieves.
