The program is conducted by Judge Willie Lipscomb every Saturday in a Detroit courtroom. Participants, mostly black males under age 21, are required to attend the 3-1/2-hour class if they have been charged with carrying a gun without a permit. |

Utah State Rep. Glenn Donnelson needs your help. With the assistance of Utah Gun Owners Alliance, he has introduced HB376, Concealed Carry Reciprocity. This bill would require that Utah recognize concealed carry permits issued by any other state or county. It would also recognize the right of any person to carry a concealed firearm if his home state grants him that right, thus allowing residents of Vermont to carry in Utah without a permit. |

"A report from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (ATF) found that 43% of the guns recovered in crimes were traced to YOUTH UNDER AGE 25." (emphasis mine)
HELLO? Is there anyone home at the ATF? The legal age for adulthood is *18*. Even if they wanted to stretch it, the maximum age in any state for people to be able to own a handgun is *21*. How can they consider 22-25 to be YOUTH? |

On January 23rd President Bush announced his first major legislative initiative, calling for renovation of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). The Constitution which he took an oath to uphold three days earlier does not authorize the federal government to fund or supervise education. Nevertheless, the Bush plan would increase federal spending on schools — and the controls that inevitably accompany such assistance — to record levels. |

Property used in the commission of a crime can be seized and forfeited to the government in a civil action prosecuted and adjudicated by the law enforcement authority, independent of any criminal filing or conviction. This concept has been a major moneymaker for law enforcement agencies, many of which create special units for the sole purpose of pursuing crime related to large property interests.
