A bill to expand an already controversial self-defense law failed Thursday in a Missouri Senate committee.
The bill would affect cases in which a person used physical or deadly force against another but claimed they acted in self-defense. SB 666, sponsored by Sen. Eric Burlison, R-Battlefield, would have transferred the burden of proof in these cases to the prosecutor; instead of defendants proving they acted in self-defense, the prosecutor would have to prove they did not. |

House Bill 9 had been significantly re-written in the House Judiciary Committee to create a fourth-degree felony penalty if a person kept or stored a firearm in a manner that was in reckless disregard of a minor's ability to access that firearm AND the minor obtained access to that firearm and used it in a manner that caused great bodily harm or death to himself or another person. If the same circumstances existed and the minor brandished the firearm or caused injury to himself or another person not resulting in great bodily harm or death, the person would have been guilty of a misdemeanor. |

On Monday, the House State, Civic, Military, and Veterans Affairs Committee is scheduled to consider anti-gun legislation, the “Vote Without Fear Act,” House Bill 1086. Please contact committee members and ask them to OPPOSE HB22-1086. House Bill 22-1086 “The Vote Without Fear Act” – The title itself is enough to let you know that sponsors and supporters of this measure hate your Second Amendment rights. HB 1086 will ban the open carry of a firearm at voting locations in the Centennial State. It is the intention of this measure to prohibit you from exercising one of your constitutional rights while engaging in another.

There is no question about it, we need to do dry-fire practice more. Even professionals who shoot hundreds of thousands of rounds a year will point to dry fire as being the most effective way of establishing and building skill. The problem is that dry fire doesn’t give you instant feedback. Just like building actual muscles, it’s kind of a pain and a lot of work. |

The name is recognized by enthusiasts worldwide, and for all the right reasons. The firm’s an institution, employing 1,500 people at its Anoka, Minn., plant that covers 700,000 sq.-ft. It’s there that millions of centerfire and rimfire cartridges are produced each day, along with an equally staggering volume of shotshells.

Introduced by Hornady in 2002, the .17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire (HMR) was designed for shooters who desire a fast, lightweight rimfire cartridge. It's especially popular among varmint hunters, who prefer the .17 HMR for its high velocity and flat trajectory. |
