"...And Americans blithely go along with it all, either supporting it, or ignoring it, or convincing themselves it's all just a series of isolated mistakes or errors in judgment rather than accurate reflections of the mutated, abusive, perverted government into which Roosevelt's welfare state has metastasized." - Jacob Hornberger |

By Congressman Ron Paul: "The injury to our Constitution cannot be overstated. Article II authorizes only the regulation of elections, not campaigns, because our Founders knew that government should stay out of the political process. Furthermore, the First amendment clearly prohibits government interference with the expression of political views. Noted constitutional scholar Herb Titus explains exactly how campaign restrictions are government censorship:..." |

From the February 25, 2002 issue: The truth about Michael Bellesiles's "Arming America" by David Skinner...
"Bellesiles's response is hardly definitive ... He spends nine pages pondering the relative importance of probate records, before condescending to address a selection of criticisms. He does not volunteer explanations for apparently nonexistent sources; ... he stands by his Rhode Island counts; ... Basically, he is unrepentant." |

"John Q" hits one of its many low points when John and his prisoners sit around the ER condemning the inadequacies of the health care system, with a brief side trip to gripe about the nation's lax gun control.
In painting John an outlaw hero, the movie conveniently sidesteps the possibility that his actions might deny another, equally deserving patient a life-sustaining heart. That would be too much moral ambiguity for this shameless piece of propaganda. |

They were able to do it because they are all armed, and have the appearance of legality. They did it in violation of the law of the land, the Constitution of the United States, as well as the Constitution of the State of Colorado. But they got away with it simply because nobody stopped them. Nobody would have been able to stop them without igniting a firefight because they all believe what they did was legal and they are willing to kill to defend it. |

Buying the wrong kind of book can lead to suspicion of you by federal agents. And who determines what is the 'wrong kind' of book? Well, those same agents, of course. And if they pursue your book purchases, the store owner will automatically be under a gag order to prevent them from talking about it or even informing you of what is going on.

Representative Nadler (D/NY) has introduced bill H.R.3751 in Congress; "To prohibit the importation of dangerous firearms that have been modified to avoid the ban on semiautomatic assault weapons."
This law would expand the definition of the types of firearms prohibited as so-called "assault weapons".
Note how Nadler characterizes design modifications made to comply with the original law as "avoiding the law".

Yes - It's a great idea. Their owners can only fire these guns, which means many lives would be saved. It's a great compromise for gun control and safety.
NO - The main problem with this so-called "Smart Gun" technology is that it introduces electrical glitches into a life-and-death situation. What if the gun couldn't fire when an intruder broke in to someone's home? "Smart guns" are not a smart idea.

YES - In some cases being allowed to carry a concealed weapon could save lives. There are circumstances in which a citizen would be safer carrying a concealed weapon. We mustn’t tie the hands of citizens who feel their life could be in grave danger.
No - There’s no reason to allow citizens to carry concealed weapons. We don’t want to turn Illinois into the Wild West by making it easier to carry a hidden gun.

YES - Lawmakers who are current or retired police officers should have the right to carry a firearm. Their ability to carry a firearm should not be questioned.
No - Security measures must apply to everyone. We don't need guns in the State House. There is no reason for these legislators to carry a concealed weapon while doing state business.

YES - There are business owners and other private citizens who might need concealed weapons for protection. In many instances, being able to carry a concealed weapon could save lives by protecting people who live or work in bad neighborhoods.
No - There's no good reason to expand the ability of people to carry concealed weapons. Missouri must not become a 'conceal and carry' society like the old west.
