In case you forgot, elections have consequences. In mid-February 2022, the Biden Administration announced it is sitting down to negotiate–and possibly settle out of court–with radical environmentalists.
Deb Haaland, Biden’s Secretary of the Interior, a woman who just wrote an op-ed on the need to protect wolves, co-authored the Tribal Heritage and Grizzly Protection Act, and has received praise (and perfect scores) from anti-hunting groups, will be negotiating with the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) concerning hunting on 2.2 million acres of public land opened in 2020 by President Trump. |

It seems like California jewelry stores are getting hit left and right. I’ve already covered two other incidents where smash-and-grab robberies were foiled by the owner with a gun. This one happened earlier this week on Monday.
Shortly before 5 PM this past Monday, three masked armed robbers pulled up to a jewelry store in Menlo Park, CA. They can be seen driving a gold minivan on the store’s surveillance footage. As the first man enters, he raises a shotgun, and one of the three customers drops to the floor. |

In 1947, the Gig Harbor Sportsman’s Club (GHSC), a group of shooting enthusiasts that had been around informally since the 1930s, incorporated as a Washington state nonprofit organization. Gig Harbor, which had just 803 residents by 1950, was clustered on the waterfront. A few hardy souls built small dwellings above the harbor on hills densely carpeted with trees, speckled with ponds and riven by streams. The Sportsman’s Club’s outdoor shooting range, a forest fastness on Burnham Drive, looked and felt remote from the sleepy fishing village. There were far more trees than people.
Fast-forward to the modern era.

uintez Brown, a 21-year-old Black Lives Matter activist, allegedly marched into the office of Louisville, Ky., mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg on Valentine’s Day and opened fire, sending a bullet through Greenberg’s clothing before fleeing the scene. Despite the story’s shock value, corporate media can’t be bothered to do much reporting on the story — and we all know exactly why.
Despite Brown’s history as a BLM activist and his flirtation with black nationalism on social media, most media outlets have shrugged off his motive for the shooting with a “who knows?” or even tried to pin it on Republicans. Brown was also a vocal gun-control advocate and was interviewed by Joy Reid on MSNBC at an anti-gun march in 2018. |

But by any definition, freezing someone’s assets without due process is a violation of civil liberties. Likewise depriving people of their livelihoods or taking away people’s right to refuse to perform work for the government. You may think that these violations are justified, but that doesn’t change the fact that they are violations.
But Canadians’ grasp of the constitutional facts have been so atrophied by decades of unthinking Charter worship that many are no longer able to think about rights independently of it, to see that rights do not begin and end with a piece of paper with an impressive title. Just because the emergency decrees pay lip service to the Charter doesn’t make them any less rights-violating. |

This article is part of a continuing series of defensive bear shootings discovered through a Freedom of Information Act request by AmmoLand. It appears these events were not reported in other media.
On September 13, 2011, two bowhunters were hunting for elk in a wild part of Wyoming, on the boundary of the Shoshone National Forest and the Bridger Teton National Forest. The location was on the Continental Divide between the Salt Creek and the South Fork of the Fish Creek drainages, about an hour north of DuNoir Junction, southwest of Dubois, Wyoming, near the boundary of Fremont County and Sublette County, at an elevation of about 9442 feet, according to the map contour lines. It is in the middle of the west edge of Wyoming. |

The Arizona House on Thursday approved two Republican-backed bills that would loosen gun laws by allowing firearms in libraries and many other public buildings and by permitting loaded weapons to be carried in vehicles on school grounds.
Both measures passed on 31-28 party-line votes with no Democratic support and now go to the Senate for action.
Debates on two other proposals — one allowing guns on university campuses and another to let people between 18 and 20 years of age get provisional concealed weapons permits — were delayed. |

Wendzel says a constituent approached her about the problem. A CPL instructor had several clients who weren’t comfortable carrying a firearm and were looking for alternative ways to defend themselves. He found a product he wanted to recommend, but after consulting with an attorney, learned under the current laws, a person defending themselves could find themselves on the end of a lawsuit. Wendzel says House Bill 5694 doesn’t amend the mixture or components of what goes into pepper spray. It simply cleans up a grey area of state law to allow for a new way to dispense or use what is already legal for Michigan residents. The bill is before the state House Judiciary Committee. |

This amounts to a 62% increase from 2007, the earliest data available, when 1,085 Ohioans died at the barrel of a gun. In comparison, gun deaths rose nationally by about 27% during the same period according to data from the CDC.
Of the more than 20,700 Ohioans’ gun deaths between 2007 and the present day, about 86% of the victims were male.
The Republican-dominated Ohio legislature has steadily relaxed state gun laws during the period in question. Lawmakers have expanded the right to shoot to kill in perceived self-defense, limited cities’ ability to adopt gun control laws stricter than the state level via “preemption” laws, and decreased training requirements to carry a concealed weapon. |

“GHOST GUNS” BAN - HB 1705 further restricts the centuries-old practice of manufacturing firearms for personal use and self-defense by imposing requirements that far exceed those in federal law. It seeks to prohibit private individuals from possessing certain unregulated components commonly used by hobbyists to make their own firearms, as well as possessing currently legal firearms that don’t have serial numbers.
BAN FIREARMS FROM ELECTION-RELATED PLACES, SCHOOL BOARD AND MUNICIPAL MEETINGS - HB 1630 prohibits any firearm at school board meetings off-campus or at municipal meetings, including CPL holders. This bill would also prohibit open-carry at election-related places, and prohibit CPL holders from ballot-counting centers. |

“Pick on someone your own caliber” is the motto of the Pink Pistols, an LGBTQ gun rights organization in the United States and Canada that advocates for the use of lawfully-owned and concealed firearms for the self-defense of the sexual minority community.
In the public eye, gun rights are often affiliated with a conservative ideology and LGBTQ rights are seen as liberal. Pink Pistols, a non-partisan, apolitical group tries to shatter these biases by showing their members that gun rights are for everyone, regardless of political belief. They are not sponsored by the NRA, completely self-funded, and exclusively run by volunteers. |

Today, the Senate voted 33-1 to pass House Bill 4048, the WV Keep, Bear and Drive with Arms Act. It will now go back to the House for concurrence. Please ask your delegate to CONCUR with the Senate on HB 4048 WITHOUT further amendments.
House Bill 4048 affirms that it is lawful to possess loaded and/or uncased long guns in vehicles. This ensures that law-abiding citizens may carry the firearms of their choice, in the manner of their choosing, with them in vehicles. Given that West Virginia already has constitutional carry, law-abiding gun owners should be able to exercise their Second Amendment rights with long guns while traveling throughout the state. |

An Arizona bill to prohibit government agencies from contracting with firms that refuse to do business with firearms companies received strong support this week from majority Republicans on a state House committee but generated tough criticism from the banking industry.
The proposal from GOP Rep. Frank Carroll would require companies doing business with the state or local governments to certify they won't refuse to work with firearms-related companies.
Carroll and other GOP supporters said some banks are refusing to do business with firms involved with the firearms industry. They framed it as an issue of preventing people from exercising their Second Amendment rights. |

California leaders introduced a bill Friday that would target gun manufacturers and distributors in a carbon copy of the Texas anti-abortion law that rewards people who sue others who assist women getting abortions.
If the California bill passes, private citizens would be allowed to sue anyone who violates California’s ban on assault weapons. Gov. Gavin Newsom was explicit about his intentions in championing the bill. |
