Yesterday, the House of Delegates passed House Bill 4048, the WV Keep, Bear, and Drive with Arms Act. It now goes to the Senate for further consideration.
House Bill 2048 affirms that it is lawful to possess loaded and/or uncased rifles and shotguns in vehicles “unless rebutted by the totality of circumstances” that unlawful hunting is occurring. This ensures that law-abiding citizens may carry the firearms of their choice, in the manner of their choice, with them in vehicles. |

Asa Hutchinson was glad to be back in the aisles of firearm and ammunition manufacturers, hunting vendors and retailers. It was his seventh trip to NSSF’s trade show, a show he’s attended every year he’s been in office.

Republican Sen. Eric Burlison's bill seeks to give shooters and other assailants the benefit of the doubt that they were acting in self-defense. If passed, it would mean that prosecutors could not bring charges against people who reasonably believed they were acting in self-defense. Police would need to find probable cause that shooters or other assailants acted unlawfully before arresting them. |

The Ozark High School JROTC battalion rifle team earned a clean sweep of the championship trophies at the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) State Championship on Jan. 15.
The Tigers came in first place in both the precision and sporter rifle divisions of the team competition that was held in Washington, Missouri.
“We continue to work hard day in and day out and I’m very proud to see this team rewarded for all of their hard work,” said 1st Sgt. William Crawford, Ozark High School JROTC instructor and rifle team coach. “There were roughly 15 schools with over 25 teams, which made for a highly-competitive field. Consistency is accuracy and accuracy is consistency.” |

A Missouri Senate committee heard testimony Tuesday on a bill that would expand legal protections for people claiming self-defense.
Mark McCloskey, the Republican Senate candidate who gained fame pointing his gun at protesters outside his St. Louis home, testified in favor of the bill. But the bill has many opponents who say it would allow criminals to avoid prosecution, including a prosecutor who called it the "Make Murder Legal Act." |

Mantis, producers of the MantisX and some of the best dry fire training tools in the industry, showed up to SHOT Show 2022 with a few new tricks in the bag. Ammon Allgaier showed us what was in line for 2022 release, but before he did that he showed us what the Blackbeard system was capable of. "What it allows you to do si dry-fire at home much more efficiently and a lot more quickly than you would do normally," Allgaier told us. How Blackbeard does this is by resetting the hammer every time you pull the trigger so you don't have to rack the charging handle every time. |

Sig Sauer on Tuesday introduced a new variant of their P365XL longslide micro 9, complete with the company's Spectre treatment.
The SIG Custom Works P365XL Spectre Comp takes the familar 9mm polymer-framed pistol, adds a laser stippled XSERIES grip module and gold flat trigger, then blends it with an optics-ready slide that includes an integrated compensator that can't work loose, a titanium nitride gold barrel, and X-RAY 3 day/night sights. That checks a lot of boxes when it comes to both looks and performance |
