Wolf is an importer of ammunition that is manufacturer agnostic, as well as brass and steel agnostic. When you see “Wolf Gold,” all that means is that these are brass cartridges. |

During early November 2018, Mossberg invited a school bus full of gunwriters to Gunsite Academy. Three days and 10,000 rounds later, the consensus was that Mossberg had done its homework and developed a micro-compact defensive pistol that fit large and small hands very well; a pistol that retailers and consumers could relish. It proved reliable, durable, comfortable to shoot and delivered precision on target that was unexpected from a pistol of less than 20 ounces with a 3.4-inch barrel. That pistol was the MC1sc and it won Shooting Illustrated’s Golden Bullseye Award for Handgun of the Year in 2020. Now, after another field test at Gunsite in 2022, Mossberg has a new version of that handgun called the MC2sc.

On Feb. 14, even as the ATF was encouraging jilted lovers to report their exes for firearm violations, Second Amendment champion Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) sent his own message to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, blasting the Department of Justice for mishandling the spike in violent crime. Grassley’s letter to Garland took the administration to task for exploiting the historic rise in murder in numerous Democrat-run cities in 2021 as merely one more opportunity to call for gun control that would do nothing to address the dynamics of this crisis. |

Why would someone who abhors the criminal justice system run for its highest office in the most populous county in the United States? By the looks of things in Los Angeles, the answer is to pursue a radical political agenda and to turn the full weight of a very large and powerful bureaucracy against its principal’s political and ideological enemies.

On Feb. 14, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gave Canadians a Valentine’s Day present, invoking the draconian “Emergencies Act” and suspending a wide range of civil liberties otherwise enjoyed by his countrymen. Lest Americans conclude that our constitutional republic is safe from such facially dictatorial actions, they should know that under existing federal laws and the laws of every state, the president or a governor could take similar “emergency” action at any time they decide an “emergency” presents itself. COVID has demonstrated this is spades. |

Welcome to today’s Photo of the Day! Here we have a unique Springfield Arms Co. Double Trigger Navy Model Revolver made in the earlier 1850s. This time in the gunmaking world was a particularly explosive one because everyone was now trying to make something completely different from their competitors. Why? Because of Patents. This new patent era forced the manufacturer to now come up with original ideas and as a result, there are some (by today’s standards) wacky remnants from the past. |

A panel of lawmakers introduced legislation that would strengthen Idaho’s “stand your ground” law by requiring counties to reimburse anyone charged in a slaying if a judge or jury concludes they acted in self-defense. Sen. Christy Zito, a Republican from Hammett, said the proposal is needed to protect people like Kyle Rittenhouse, who used an assault-style rifle to shoot three people during a street protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 2020. Rittenhouse killed Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum and wounded Gaige Grosskreutz, but he said he acted in self-defense. A jury last year acquitted him of multiple charges including homicide.

Legislation under consideration by the Kansas Senate would make firearms the first industry protected from discrimination under state law. Senate Bill 482 prohibits state and local government entities from contracting with companies that refuse to trade, engage or have terminated an existing relationship with firearm companies. Firearm industry advocates argued instances of this type of discrimination have risen substantially in the past decade. |
